I'm trying to clean up my itunes - I had about 1500 files that were duplicated, among other annoying things - but one thing I am having a terrible time with is pulling playlists off of my ipod to put them back onto itunes. I tried touchcopy but it pulled all the *songs* off the ipod with the playlists listed as 'albums' and that isn't what I want. Freeware - or something that costs up to five bucks - is ideal.

Suggestions? I have Windows Vista, which I do actually sort of like...

Today's Friday Five:

1. What is your biggest waste of time in your home?
Lush bath bombes, for me and the kids. I would say the computer, but I try to do things that are at least informative and interesting or creative, and I don't consider "chatting with friends" to be a waste of time.

2. When at work, what is the activity that you find wastes the most time?
The only thing I get lost in, and find myself un-distractable during, is reviewing trademark search reports. 600 pages, an average of 90 minutes to two hours, and I find them bizarrely fun.

3. When getting busy with a date or significant other, what ritual could you do without?
Not actually sure what this means. Um, getting the kids to go to sleep first?

4. What is your biggest waste of time on the Internet?
PunditKitchen.com

5. What do you do at a restaurant to waste time when waiting for your meal?
If I am dining solo, I tend to read LJ or other websites on my iphone. On airplanes, though, I tend to watch videos on my ipod. My first-gen-of-video-ipods is dying, alas. Maybe I'll get a new one for my birthday. Off to drop a hint to the spouse, who got me my first ipod for my birthday back in 2004. That one is still working, although not particularly well. It's become the kitchen ipod, stocked with music for the kids to listen to during dinner or for me to cook to.

Off to keep refreshing the page for eyecon tickets...

Oh, it is shiny!

Sorry I'm being spammity today, and it seems to be mostly musicish stuff, but it seems to be a good day for mobile music and other fun things.

visual voicemail - GSM+EDGE - wifi - bluetooth - quad band is what Techdigest.tv is reporting.

Any info about colours yet?

ETA: MacRumorsLive has more info and amazing pics but their server seems to be getting innundated. I'm trying to gack an image or two to mirror...

Update from ShinyShiny.tv, who are SO on the ball in Vegas this week:
They've got to be kidding, right? The likes of Nokia might announce their phones months and months before they hit the stores, but Apple usually starts shipping its gear almost straight away. So the news that the iPhone isn't going to be out in the UK until Q4 (and not out in the US till June) is almost too strange to comprehend. Clearly, Jobs is confident that no phone competitor is going to manage to produce something more exciting in the interim, but keeping everyone hanging on like this could be a big mistake.

Having said that, the other alternative is that we're all just going to be whipping ourselves up into a frenzy of anticipation for the next 9 months, screeching with joy at every titbit of information (just like we all wet ourselves everytime anyone mentioned the Wii) and then iPhone will sell out in half a day, leaving most of us iPhone-less till 2008.

The 4GB iPhone is going to be available in the US exclusively with Cingular $499 on a two-year contract, and the 8GB will cost $599. No news who's going to be carrying it in the UK. Hopefully someone who's got a decent web tariff so that we can all actually afford to use the thing after forking out whatever enormous sum this thing will go for over here.
