But not me, yet!

SO many thanks to everyone who sent me cards, virtual LUSH and cakes and sippy-things and images today, and extra shiny thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pheebs1 for her toe-curlingly lovely Sam Winchester/Jess Mariano fic and to [livejournal.com profile] innie_darling for her heart-tearingly beautiful San + Dean + John at Disneyland fic, which was especially fun to read the day before I go to Disneyland yay!

And to Steve Jobs for introducing this gorgeous piece of work that I can covet, even if I can't actually obtain one in the near future. Are there any "WANT" or "COVET" icons featuring the Air yet? Because I feel very infinite in saying "WANT" about an icon that says "WANT" - like mirrors reflecting each other, they go on forever.

And to the BBC, who are lovely enough to start showing Torchwood in what is technically today in the UK, UK time! Squee! I am pretty unspoiled for everything other than That Guest Actor in this ep, so please, make it my birthday present not to spoil me!

And to my husband who took me to see National Treasure II for which I have a few spoilers under the cut... ) Will there be an extended DVD? And is there any Reiley Poole/Sam Winchester fic out there? Or NT/Numb3rs xovers?

We also had ice cream for lunch and saw Enchanted, too, and went to a bookstore and I got 10ish hours of sleep last night and it's been a lovely, mellow birthday.

Aaron's grandfather is on the mend, more or less. You can't be 91 and have pneumonia and bounce back quickly, but he was moved out of ICU yesterday and will probably go to a longterm recovery facility next week. I'm so glad we came out here for the week, because it was just a very family-focused time, and it was the right place to be.

I've been writing this post in dribs & drabs in email all day, and it's become just a set of highlights of The Day LJ Stood Still.

Normally, if I can't get onto lj for 28 hours I wonder if I'm missing anything interesting - I didn't feel like that today because I knew I at least wasn't missing interesting posts - there just *were* none. Tomorrow, otoh...

Went to Oceans 12 last night - very cute and you could tell they had a lot of fun with it. Did anyone see it without having seen 11? I can't see how it would've made sense in that way. I also wonder how Benedict is going to explain things on his tax return. The meta was very amusing, and I didn't like Brad Pitt's hair.

Then we went to this cute restaurant that we hadn't been to since august. We went for the good-enough food and the amazing molten chocolate cake. They've changed the menu, though - no more molten cake. Le sigh.

But I made it up to myself by having a nutella + strawberries crepe this morning for brunch.

Stumbled into a new manicure place today - the theme is PINK. [livejournal.com profile] praetorianguard would not like its scheme, but [livejournal.com profile] ari_o would, and [livejournal.com profile] epicyclical would comment on the glitter. [livejournal.com profile] sjbranford would never cross the threshold.

[livejournal.com profile] tea_and_toast, [livejournal.com profile] praetorianguard approved my Nefarious Plan, which should make for an interesting spring. I see april fools in the context somehow. Whee.

Jasper Fforde is auctioning off some Thursday Next & writing stuff - proceeds will go to tsunami relief. Cool guy. Auction ends on Jan. 27.

Now, I'm off to catch up on whatever's made it to my flist so far - and I have a question for all of you - what did you do for your Day Off From LJ?
