I've been writing this post in dribs & drabs in email all day, and it's become just a set of highlights of The Day LJ Stood Still.

Normally, if I can't get onto lj for 28 hours I wonder if I'm missing anything interesting - I didn't feel like that today because I knew I at least wasn't missing interesting posts - there just *were* none. Tomorrow, otoh...

Went to Oceans 12 last night - very cute and you could tell they had a lot of fun with it. Did anyone see it without having seen 11? I can't see how it would've made sense in that way. I also wonder how Benedict is going to explain things on his tax return. The meta was very amusing, and I didn't like Brad Pitt's hair.

Then we went to this cute restaurant that we hadn't been to since august. We went for the good-enough food and the amazing molten chocolate cake. They've changed the menu, though - no more molten cake. Le sigh.

But I made it up to myself by having a nutella + strawberries crepe this morning for brunch.

Stumbled into a new manicure place today - the theme is PINK. [livejournal.com profile] praetorianguard would not like its scheme, but [livejournal.com profile] ari_o would, and [livejournal.com profile] epicyclical would comment on the glitter. [livejournal.com profile] sjbranford would never cross the threshold.

[livejournal.com profile] tea_and_toast, [livejournal.com profile] praetorianguard approved my Nefarious Plan, which should make for an interesting spring. I see april fools in the context somehow. Whee.

Jasper Fforde is auctioning off some Thursday Next & writing stuff - proceeds will go to tsunami relief. Cool guy. Auction ends on Jan. 27.

Now, I'm off to catch up on whatever's made it to my flist so far - and I have a question for all of you - what did you do for your Day Off From LJ?

Ooo, am I an ickle firstie? :P

Well, it actually was not too different from every other saturday, only with the knowledge that I wasn't missing anything! *meep*.

We finally got rid of the "junk" we had stacked up on our trailer and brought it to the dump! Old broken furniture, old books, broken radios; you know the stuff that you keep and say, "well, maybe SOMEDAY I'll use it/fix it/give it away. Then five years late, it's still in the same spot! So, we went dumping and then I did laundry.

I know... you're jealous, aren't you? :DD

Happy Birthday!

On my day off from LJ, I watched my dad and husband fix the water heater. I took down more Christmas decorations now that the boxes for them have been located. I went grocery shopping. I went and watched the kid bowl in his new bowling league. It was pretty much a normal Saturday around here. I'm usually too busy on weekends to spend much time on LJ anyway. It's the weeknights that I need it to keep me sane!

what did you do for your Day Off From LJ?

I refreshed the page over and over and over..

I may have also checked my email a few times and read a few stories.

Happy birthday, sweetie! We don't get older, we just grow in our inner fabulousness.

I commemorated NO LJ DAY by attending departmental meetings (oh joy, oh light of my life) and reading not-half-bad Pride and Prejudice smut. There was also comfort food of the salami and provolone panini and caramel macchiato varieties.

I'm glad the s00persekritsneaky plan is on. Very cool.

Happy Birthday!

I didn't miss LJ being down at all. I closed at work last night, which means I got home around 1:30 this morning. After eating dinner, opening my inbox and realising I didn't really have the time or energy to do anything, I tottered off to bed. I had to be up before 6 for a 7 a.m. staff meeting. By the time I got home I was exhausted. Had a quick snack, a nap and got up in time to go meet my sister and her husband so we could go to a dinner party. I think I am immensely grateful not to have lots of LJ to catch up with, especially considering the serious backlog that is my inbox. :)

Mostly popping in to say happy birthday! <333

But to answer your question, today I wrote 90% of a fic, cleaned out a drawer, and then found out about the gathering at GJ, so it was sort of business as usual after that. :P So useful of me, I know.

Happy Birthday! (Late, but...) On my Day Off from LJ, I posted to Fiction Alley more than I usually do. That, and refreshed TLC frequently, hoping for new news. (Well, in virtual-land, anyway.)

Yummy!

OBTW - Happy Belated B-day - LJ was down, what can I say...

Day off from LJ - de-cluttered all the flat surfaces in the kitchen, living room, dining room and 1/2 of the bedroom. Damn I hate clutter!

Well, I went to the mall and bought myself plastic shoes, a keychain and a...thing that resembles a coat. Everything really nice, very fun. When I got home and there was still no LJ, I felt isolated, kept refreshing the LJ news page, and going to TLC in search of people/news/something. I was so relieved when it got back.

Oh, and Happy Birthday, in case you didn't see my last comment (on another entry) :)

Happy birthday :)

I managed to get a new episode of Cold Case downloaded (new to me). I watched Season One DVDs of a UK spy show called "Spooks". And I went out for a friend's birthday party in London where there was ridiculous amounts of food and a respectable amount of booze. Met lots of new and fun people. Yay :)

Didn't do much yesterday as my daughter was sick, so we spent much of the day huddled together in front of the TV. Boring, I know.

I studied for social studies, chem, and watched the Eagles game while waving a towel and doing my AP Euro notes. :)
