How do you make yours? How do you prefer yours?

I can still remember being at EuroDisney back in 1992 and being handed popcorn with sugar on it, and being told they had it no other way (UGH).

I do my popcorn on the stove, in a pot, with olive oil or rosemary-infused oil. I only use Orville Reddenbacher kernels and I only put sea salt (or sea salt + a Choulua chili-lime spices) on it.

Microwave popcorn is vile, and I never eat it. Air-popped is ok, with good salt and spices on it.

If I had my way, I would eat only popcorn today, in celebration and commemoration of this wonderful food!

And huh, I have a tag for popcorn? I did not remember that! (But I did just get to see the People's Choice Award ad for SPN on the CW, yay.)

Popcorn with salt still shocks me. I couldn't believe people would actually eat it that way! The first time I had it was in a wee student Cocktail bar, where it came complimentary with your drink - and for some reason, with a really sweet cocktail it actually works!

But I'd never buy salty popcorn in other situations and I'd never make salty popcorn myself. I used to have a popcorn maker when I was a teenager and it was really cool - I'm thinking of buying one again, just cause I prefer them to the saucepan method.
