These are sort of a collection of thoughts I had while watching Show, combined with things that occured to me while I was re-watching while vidding today, and things that occured to me while reading other LJs.



1. I never expected Sam to save Dean. I hoped and dreamed for an Orpheus storyline and we may possibly possibly get it. Maybe that's why I wasn't as jittery beforehand as I was last year before 2.22?

kitsune13 has a groovy summary of lore involving Hermes who is occasionally personified as the Trickster, and his relation to the Orpheus myth.

Yum.

(Although I admit that it would have been lovely to see Lawyer!Sam in settlement negotiations!

2. I loved the dialogue about Family and Dean's plea to Sam to break the pattern. And Sam tried to deal with Lilith anyway. Sigh. What *is* he going to try next year?

3. I was under the impression that Lilith had been in Ruby since she broke out from the devil's trap, and in fact, that Lilith got her out. Or went into it and then got into Ruby and then broke the trap much like Meg did when she was in Sam in S2. And as Sam said in the begining of the ep, demons can travel fast. And we saw in 1.22 that demons can enter bodies without the black smoke thing - look at the fireman and the resident at the apartments - so maybe the black smoke is when they're hurrying?

4. The last fucking thing Dean saw before he died? Was Lilith about to kill Sam - and he couldn't so a damned thing about it. And he has no idea what happened to Sam - he has every reason to think she killed him in that moment. I don't know if Show *will* open like that in S4 but it could. And I hope there are fics incorporating it! Because Dean thinking it was all for naught because Sam's going to die too? Well, that's one explanation for the screaming.

Poor woobie.

5. Speaking of fics, are there any J2 fics with the boys singing in the car on the way to the set? Because there should be!

6. I am not worried about Dean's mangled body (and I note that the hellhounds didn't do much damage to that face) - if Demonic Magic can fix a severed spinal cord and blood loss (Sammy, 2007) then they can repair Dean's blood loss as well. Right?

i definitely noticed dean's face seemed to survive untouched :D yay.

of course one of my friends has to throw the wrnech in it and say dean can't get his bod back and maybe jensen won't be around for s4... she's only still alive b/c i cannot kill by IM, but next time i see her!

bobby is ALIVE, only b/c i know kripke would make us watch him die if he dies. bobby is a popular character, so of course they must twist the knife in our hearts by showing us his death...

is katie scheduled to come back? i thought she did a great job w/this ep, and i really like ruby... bela i can do without though. too bad she got interesting only 2 minutes before she was supposed to die...

is it september yet?

also, i'm still debating what dates to go to florida for... let me know what you're thinkning on that, and we can see if it makes sense for me to visit miami or not... omg cannot wait for eyecon... i just hope s4 opener will not be that thursday or else i'm flying in on wednesday so i can watch with everyone on thursday night.....

Well, if Sam got his body back in terrific condition after having his spinal cord cut in half (plus blood loss and being dead for a day or more) then Dean can come back from bloodloss. I mean, Yellow Eyes healed Dean from those massive injuries in 2.01, too!

Afaik, S4 is starting the first week of September, so by eyecon we should be on Ep 4. You're cordially invited to Miami if you want to come in on Thursday (or Wednesday if you want to spend a day in Broward) but we're hitting the road to Orlando stupidly early on Friday morning (like, 6AM). I think a few other people may fly into Miami and drive up with me - and you're also invited to stay through Rosh Hashana if you want. Just let me know by the end of August so I can get you a ticket.

This must've been like ... urm... the third episode of Supernatural I've seen. Well, technically, two and a half, because I tuned in to the one last week with the creepy doctor dude, and I was so freaked out I had to shut the television off. I almost turned this one off, too, but I stuck it out coz, hey - season finale. And I wanted to know what happened to Dean.

Them singing in the car was the coolest/cutest/family bonding type thing I've ever seen.

I don't understand what Sam did to mess Lilith up?

I got spoiled for Lilith being in Ruby by someone's icon... *sigh* but other than that I was all good and non-spoiled and enjoyed it muchly... especially with the wibbly boys and the kicking ass and then more wibbly boys...!!
