...and especially when you'd set aside time to work the day after Thanksgiving only to find that your office is closed and completely locked so even though you can get past the fingerprint-identification, you can't actually get in.

Posting by the numbers today...

1. Amazon has the Complete Buffy on sale for under $95, and there's free two-day shipping. That's slightly more than half off the official price, so if you're looking to get it for the holidays, today might be a good day for the getting.

2. I'm still taking requests for vids - I really want to make a few for y'all during this holiday season, but you need to submit more bunnies! [livejournal.com profile] shay_renoylds, can you post the one we were discussing in your LJ earlier this month? To keep it organized, it would be great if you commented with a few requests here - get serious, schmoopy, cracky - I want to get creative.

3. Speaking of crack, I made a Doctor/Master vid!

Title: Say My Name

Music: Destiny's Child's Say My Name. Yes, it makes for crack.

Details: At least, it started as crack. Then it got angsty, as my crack seems to do. Inspired by a line from the Children In Need special, although with no spoilers for it; spoilers for S3 of Doctor Who.

Summary: The Doctor is worried that Lucy is coming between the Master and himself; can true love survive? Spoilers for all of S3 of the new Doctor Who.

Pairing: Doctor/Master

Rating: PG-13

Vidder's Note: This is the first time I've tried to match up some of the mouth movements to the song lyrics - sometimes it works, and sometimes I know it's off but I liked the effect or the clip anyway...

Higher-resolution version on MegaUpload.

Also available on YouTube.

4. Sometime tomorrow I may manage a longer post on press coverage of "James Potter & the Halls of Elders Crossing" and why no "journalists" seem to be able to figure out how to use Google, and thus end up writing things like:

Rowling's decision is expected to cause a surge in the number of unauthorised tales by fans.

O RLY? A surge? Because the numbers have been so paltry to date? Because there's a dearth of sequels to the Harry Potter series?

Clearly, reporters weren't able to use Google to learn anything real about the fanfic before they started writing stupid articles and can't manage to use Google now to learn anything about the enormous mass of Harry Potter fanfic that already exists on the net.

5. Hey! SHOW is on tonight! Is this the last ep for a while or are they just airing through December with the rest of the pre-strike episodes?
ETA: Ooooh! Excellent and spoilery-for-backstory interview with David Anders here!

6. The number six waves to the Zone.

7. Saw Enchanted yesterday. Was completely enchanted and in adoration, especially over the Central Park scene. Am about to download soundtrack on itunes. Wish XMen III had been a musical because James Marsden and Hugh Jackman singing together would've been lovely.

I saw in an article today that they're adding Giselle to the Princesses at Disney - not sure if that means she'll be a part of the Princess line or if she'll just be a walk-around character or various other aspects that would be overspoilery to discuss here so I think I'll just save them for tomorrow. I know there's a lot of fellow Disney fans on my flist -what do you think about Disney bringing the Enchanted characters into the Parks? ETA: Spoilers for Enchanted in the comments!

8. For those of you who enjoyed last week's cover song collection, BestWeek Ever has a list of songs that are impossible to cover. I do remember a Madonna cover of one of the songs they've listed, though.SO I guess "impossible" just means "bad"?
heidi: (sidekick)
This LJ is five years old today.
The Zone turned twelve last week.
And I got "married" last night. Our synogogue had a Vegas-style party with gambling tables and our rabbi dressed as Elvis performed dozens of weddings under a chuppah in our synogogue, and it was terrific fun.
Of course, between the champagne and the tequilla and the appletinis and Cate sleeping poorly last night, I woke up a little tipsy this morning, still. Whee.

I want to do something to commemorate this five-years-on-lj thing, but I'm a little too fuzzy-headed to write anything overcomplicated and I've just had only popcorn and diet coke for breakfast.

So I'm going to do two things:
1. Ask a question - and I'll answer.
2. I'm about to post a list of twelve characters, numbered, as a reply to one of my first dozen posts (but don't go looking for it - it's more fun that way) - I have a dozen questions from an older list, but I'd love some new ones to do too! So ask a question, in the style of "1 and 7 and 10 have to get a birthday present for 3. What is it and what giftwrap do they use?"

Also, did anyone listen to John Barrowman doing Elaine Paige's radio show this morning? Is it worth a listen?
