Five years on....

This LJ is five years old today.
The Zone turned twelve last week.
And I got "married" last night. Our synogogue had a Vegas-style party with gambling tables and our rabbi dressed as Elvis performed dozens of weddings under a chuppah in our synogogue, and it was terrific fun.
Of course, between the champagne and the tequilla and the appletinis and Cate sleeping poorly last night, I woke up a little tipsy this morning, still. Whee.

I want to do something to commemorate this five-years-on-lj thing, but I'm a little too fuzzy-headed to write anything overcomplicated and I've just had only popcorn and diet coke for breakfast.

So I'm going to do two things:
1. Ask a question - and I'll answer.
2. I'm about to post a list of twelve characters, numbered, as a reply to one of my first dozen posts (but don't go looking for it - it's more fun that way) - I have a dozen questions from an older list, but I'd love some new ones to do too! So ask a question, in the style of "1 and 7 and 10 have to get a birthday present for 3. What is it and what giftwrap do they use?"

Also, did anyone listen to John Barrowman doing Elaine Paige's radio show this morning? Is it worth a listen?

1. A. Shall we contemplate the idea of a giant party for DH? Have $$ - will travel! Don't we need to commemorate the great event as a large and t00by group? B. What do you love the most about your time in fandom and FA and your time working with HPEF?

2. I hope I'm doing this right . . . Characters 12, 11 and 10 are forced on a Muggle roadtrip -- what kind of car do they buy for the journey? Describe their roadtrip as they journey to visit Character 7.

1a. OMG YES. I will totally travel anywhere in North America to read this book with friends.

1b. Every single real-life meetup with other fandomers has been a wonderful and amazing experience. Other than that, I'd say the Katie O'Brien scholarships - we're about to launch it for 2007 and I love that we do them.

I don't do that much cooking, other than breakfast. We have some terrific places around here that make great take-home food, and Aaron makes the steaks and two weekly chickens, so I'm really a side-dishes kind of girl. And the boys are busy most of the time now, with school. When Cate starts this summer I don't know what I'll do with my time!

I've been going to Disney since I was 15 months old, so it's never not been a part of my life. It's the lucky thing about being from South Florida, getting to go at least once a year if not more...

1. If you had to pick one piece of fanfiction to introduce someone to the HP fandom which would it be?

The Estate of Sirius Black v Minister of Magic. It pushes all my lawyering buttons and it's just insane, but completely realistic.
Other than that, probably Sam's Registration, which was a very cheering gift-fic he wrote for me when I was sitting outside my son's school at 11 at night so he could get registered for kindergarten in the morning. It's a great story, but it's also the thought behind it - about fandom and friendship - that mean a lot.
