heidi: (Vidding)
I know there's been an influx of vid posting here recently - but it's completely eaten my brain the way it did back in college when I worked in the school tv station and edited vids for things like Spring Fling and various college performing arts groups on 3/4 inch tape and made credits on an Amiga.

And you know what happens when something eats your brain?

It turns into crack.

Over the weekend, [livejournal.com profile] missyjack posted:
Warning - Season Three Finale Spoiler:

Unnamed sources close to Eric Kripke have revealed that the opening song montage finale for the truncated Season Three will not feature "Carry On Wayward Son", as in the previous two seasons. Instead the montage will be set to "Livin' la Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin.

It was tagged "this is a joke" (ALAS!) and [livejournal.com profile] cathybites wondered:
Is it wrong that I really really REALLY kind of want that?

I asked if that was a vid request, Cathy said yes, especially for the Shrek version, Missy concurred and [livejournal.com profile] juice817 gave me the song, which I unfortunately did not already own.

And I put together this. Total crack, and a counterpoint for my recent angstvidding.

Title: Livin' la Vida Loca!

Song Originally From: Shrek II

Fandom: Supernatural

Rating: PG-13 for blood and language

Summary: Not actually a leaked draft of the Supernatural Season Three finale's intro. Nope, definitely not!

Spoilers: Through Season 3, Episode 12 (Please do not spoil me for anything in unaired episodes! Thanks!)

Genre: Crack. SO MUCH CRACK. And lip-synching!

( + cracky crack from cracktopia! )

You can also download it from Megaupload in .wmv format or go directly to the YouTube page.

Approx 65 MB and just under four minutes long. Still crack!

Fan Film Recs of the Day - not sure who I gacked this from, but someone linked to a trailer for a sequel to Titanic embedded behind the cut... )

If the movie really existed, I would totally love to see it!

ETA: Adrian Pasdar's added a few new videos on his YouTube page, including one entitled Primatech, where he makes good use of a long tracking shot and a very clever yet subtle edit.

And I'm wondering, what would be better than Adrian and Milo collaborating to direct just one episode of Heroes?

I'm also really loving the fact that there's been hundreds of blog posts about his YouTube account, and nothing so far on Google's news aggregator. It's like the fandom-wide un-secret.
