In 2007, I first did this particular meme, then did it again in 2008 but I don't remember doing it in 2009 or 2010, and for some reason I am in the mood to do it again. To update from what I wrote back then:

Name a character in any of my fandoms* and I'll tell you 3-4 things about them from my personal fanon-take on said character.

*Back then, the list was: HP, New Doctor Who, Torchwood, Heroes, Supernatural, The Eight or Tomorrow People (heck, I'll even throw the Star Wars original series and Batman Begins in for a lark).

In 2008, the list was: HP, New Doctor Who, Torchwood, Heroes, Supernatural, The Eight or Tomorrow People, Star Wars original series, Batman Begins, PotC, Indiana Jones, Dark Angel, IronMan, Gilmore Girls (S1 - 4 only) or Chuck.

Now the list is: Harry Potter, New Doctor Who, Torchwood, Heroes (yeah, still. So?), Supernatural, The Eight, Tomorrow People, Star Wars, Batman Begins-verse, Castle, Glee, Chuck, Merlin, White Collar, Leverage and heck, I'll throw in Inception too. And Disney Princesses.

So please don't spoil me. But if you've seen it or are slightly spoiled for the premise of tonight's episode, here's two fannish flashbacks )

Yes, it's been a year since the show ended, but I've been wanting some icons themed on Peter and Gabriel and their Sledgehammers (pun, I hope, intended by the writers but I doubt they were quite that clever on purpose) and as part of [livejournal.com profile] help_nz, [livejournal.com profile] ariadnechan made me some GORGEOUS ones here! She made me so many more than I had originally expected, and I'm thrilled beyond belief by them.

Also, still looking for a very specific FictionAlley April Fool's cover featuring Glee. Anyone interested in doing it? PLEASE?

My husband will be flying home from LA on the red-eye, with this massive moon lighting his way. But he'll probably (hopefully) sleep for most of it.

Two moon-centric songs for you tonight:
Voice of the Beehive's The Man in the Moon )

Fairground Attraction's The Moon Is Mine )

Those girls will always (along with Tracey Thorn of Everything But the Girl) be my forever favorites.

Off to Disney and Universal in a few hours but before I go:

The French Mistake Fanworks Fest!

At [livejournal.com profile] j2_fpsfest we are open for prompts focused on fictional!Jared, fictional!Jensen and the other fictional people who exist in the universe of The French Mistake.

We're donating a dollar to the NZ Red Cross and a dollar to the Japanese Red Cross for each fill posted in the next week (possibly longer, not sure yet).

Speaking of Japan:
DH is on the west coast - was in downtown LA and is now in SF so I was worried for him this morning but it looks like the US coastlines are going to be mostly ok, i hope. Prayers to all those in Japan, or with friends and family there - some fandomers have already set up [livejournal.com profile] help_japan and they're looking for a US based moderator to help out.

Safe weekends, all of you!

Really, don't click unless you want a visual spoiler for either SPN 6.17 or 6.18.
When fandom asks for a pony... )

I never post about dreams but I had one last night that at next year's LA creationcon (which is omgflail overpriced wtf) Jared, Jensen, Misha and Jim played Twister on the stage and then signed the game mat and auctioned it off. I hope for charity. I don't remember what it went for but it was something astronomical and insane (and I have a weird feeling that Misha bought it).

Thoughts about Show coming later - I may do a re-watch first.

1. The final HP premiere in London will be on July 7 at Trafalger *and* Leicester Squares, as per Mugglenet, etc. today. I am expecting to be there, in London from the 5th or 6th through the 10th (for some reason, it's 1200 dollars cheaper than flying home on the 9th, no I don't know why). Does anyone want to see Much Ado with me on the 8th or 9th?

2. [livejournal.com profile] lazy_daze and I are playing around with a fest at [livejournal.com profile] j2_fpsfest, where Jared & Jensen (and everyone else from the alt-verse in last week's SPN) are fictional people (and alpacas) and therefore the squick some have about writing fic about real people need not come into play! It's not just a J2 fest - anyone who exists in the alt-verse is fair game, in their fictional personas. Details are still being worked out, but it's going to be adorable and amusing!

3. Food & Wine Festival was last weekend in Miami; I had far too many burgers, and decided not to have any wine at the Grand Tasting on Sunday, so I stuck to cocktails. I think I had two to three sips from about twenty different drinks, and had much love for the Skinnygirl Margarita, this amazing Pomagranate margarita that had salt and chile flavor on the rim, and a vodka thing made from Florida oranges. The iced tea vodka was disgusting. And the new Jelly Belly cocktail flavours - mojito, cosmo, margarita - were gorgeous.

4. Loved last night's Castle - the emotions, the problem-solving smarts of the rest of the team, everything was fantastic and it was a joy to see Pasdar on my screen again. Gah, I hope this turns into a spinoff or something; after the hell that it sounds like the last two years of Heroes were for him, he deserves something good.

More catch-up postyness later.

Oh, many! When I am vidding I sometimes listen to the same song 20+ times in a day - whether it's You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk or If You Seek Amy (Supernatural) or Charm Attack or In The Kitchen at Parties (Heroes) or even DJ Earworm's remixes for 2009 (Tennant!Doctor) I will listen to a song 30 or 40 times while vidding it, and if I come out still loving it on the other side, I'm happy with what I've done.

But I could also listen to some Fairground Attraction, Crowded House, Style Council, Everything But the Girl and Jason Manns songs over and over without flinching, even if I never vid to them. Repetition is my friend.

As is the corn-infused vodka that I tried during the SoBe Wine & Food Fest cocktail seminar today. YUM! Like liquid popcorn, but boozy!
