I was lucky and thrilled to get veronamay's fic "Better Elsewhere" in this year's spn_j2_bigbang and it was an unbelievable experience to get to create things for her wonderful story!

Okay, so. I've said it before, but let me say it again: I am SO GLAD to have been paired with a vidder for this particular fic. And you did such an awesome, awesome job. The vid is beautiful, and the choice of song is inspired (I'll always hear it differently in my head now), but I gotta tell you: the trailer absolutely KILLS me. Ditto the mosaic book cover, which is utterly gorgeous, and I don't know how you managed to get the Wordle cover to focus on those oh-so-important words but it's fantastic. In a word. ;)

And I am so so so glad I got to work with you and try to put your words into "action", after a fashion. At some point, email me your address - I'm making myself a high-res print of the mosaic and I want to send one to you as well. Because, yeah, pretty.

Wordle nearly freaked me out, because when I went back to it with the Sexsmith font, they'd changed the algorithms and I had to play with the words included a bit - more than I already had to get your name and the title in there - but it was a nifty challenge, and it's a terrific program, isn't it?

Again, squee - I've had such an amazing time working with you and I hope we manage to work together again on something!

I really loved the first vid, it worked so incredibly well with the fic. The audio overlay of some of Jared's dialogue from Gilmore Girls and a few short clips for Jensen in Smallville really added to the content as per the fic and were so seamlessly meshed I wouldn't know that they were from other shows (well except that Jared looks like a total baby in one clip, but he's adorable so it works). :D Seriously great work.

Also, I think the song you choose for the second vid was perfectly toned.

He is such a total baby! And Dean was a total stalker for a bit there, and it worked as Sam's character just spot-on, so it was a lot of fun to do.

I actually never watched GG when it aired, so I've gone back and re-watched a lot since then and he's so ickle (in a gigantor sort of way) and so much fun to edit.

The song for the dialogue-free vid was by Jason Manns, who's one of Jensen's good friends, and who's performed at various SPN cons. I heard a song from him only because Jensen sang backup for it but for some reason, I loved all his songs and his voice just so much that Jason's stuff has become 15 of the top 50 songs I've listened to in the last year. So it was fun to finally have a story that meshed so well with one of his songs, so I could play with it all.

These are serious awesome! I really don't know which one is my favorite, they are both just so well done...and I love that you chose "Perfect Spot" for the second video, it's one of my favorite Jason Manns songs and I don't think I'll ever not think about the Winchester boys when I listen to it now. ;)

Isn't Jason just amazing? One of the main reasons I'm going to EyeCon this fall is because he's doing a concert and I so want to see him perform live. When I read the fic the first time, I put together a list of a dozen songs for veronamay and this one just *worked* for me and veronamay and it was a treat to "have to" listen to it again and again while editing.

Jesus CHRIST. I saw the trailer, and I haven't even read the fic yet, but I'm all asquee because that trailer is brilliant, and I love all the quotes and footage from the guys' other shows that you used to fit in so perfectly! Seriously, if I weren't this sad and actually seen those other shoes, I wouldn't have known the difference. Baby!Jared as young!Sam, etc.

I don't want to try and predict where veronamay would have taken her story if she'd gone beyond the end of 2.20, but look at the boys at the end of S3. If you think that Sammy's had a chance while Elsewhere to figure out how to get Dean over to his way of thinking about the two of them, then you can hope that he'll manage to make the right steps to convince Dean again...

Let's just say that the events of 2.21 kind of ... flipped a switch in Dean's head, and that might've played a part in his making the deal. Possibly. And while he's still repressing in S3, as Heidi says, by the time we get to around 3.08 or so Dean's starting to come round. Of course, that pesky deal gets in the way and has delayed things a bit, but I'm sure they'll fix that in S4. *g*
