1. [livejournal.com profile] zia_narratora has recreated the tragic stories from Les Miserables, as told by peeps!
Chicks and Bunnies:
Look down, look down!
You'll never have enough!
Look down, look down!
You're only made of fluff!
or see the whole of the brilliant and tragic and prettily pastel coloured story here.

2. On the fourth day of the fourth month, then will come The Eight.

Sound familiar? Then you may've been in The Zone back in the spring of 1996, when [livejournal.com profile] laughingirl and I typed in pages and pages from The Eight (see icon) in an attempt to convince everyone in said Zone to read the entire book. If you've never read it, the first chapter is available via Amazon here - hey, Lisa, that url is a lot easier to C&P in than typing that entire chapter was, right? And does anyone still have [livejournal.com profile] ginsu's parody of that first chapter? If so, please share?

3. Random Fics I've Read This Week And Enjoyed:
Sam Gets Genie Powers in a fic from [livejournal.com profile] regala_electra
Relevance by [livejournal.com profile] marinarusalka, in honor of National Poetry Month
Circa Jan 2006 fic on Dean, learning Latin by [Bad username or site: fryadvocate</a @ livejournal.com] - got the link via [livejournal.com profile] spnroundtable

Other Stuff I've Enjoyed This Week:
ShinyShiny's list of photo editing programs that are free or supercheap
[livejournal.com profile] fishzilla's cartoony and [livejournal.com profile] thereisnospoon's pencily Peter and Sam With Emo Bangs art (probably worksafe? Unless work is really really conservative?)
The posts in [livejournal.com profile] bookshop's lj on Draco and Harry and series-development, and the discussion that sorta led to in [livejournal.com profile] sistermagpie's livejournal on Myrtle as a Fangirl
This shirt, as featured by ShinyShiny
The Wedding of [livejournal.com profile] dezzikitty and [livejournal.com profile] jiggery_pokery
X Rated Fusion Liquor - it's got vodka, blood oranges and passion fruit, and it's not only extremely pink, it's also yummy! So is Absolut Pear! On the other hand, Bailey's Carmel? Isn't worth the calories; it's just not that supertasty.

Have also finalized Spring & Summer travel plans. Northeast, here I come! Again! And Again! And possibly, again!

And can anyone figure out what's wrong with this Linksys wireless adapter that has caused Amazon to mark it down to about five bucks, from about sixty?

I love the x-rated. Try it with a splash of sprite to cut the sweetness.

There's a sequel to The Eight? That's one of my favorite books -- and the one I compare The DaVinci Code to quite unfavorably for Dan Brown.

I'll have to read it again...then read The Magic Circle, which is the other of hers that I adore. Wasn't too much of a fan of A Calculated Risk.

What would happen if Valentine and Mireille were in the Zone?

**

"We are not nuns yet, thank God," said Valentine, passing her Marlboro Light to Mireille.

"I'm thinking we can snag a couple soldier boys," said Mireille. "Soldiers rule."

"I have heard," Valentine whispered to her cousin, "that the soldiers do kewl things to nuns! If a soldier should come upon a DIVA in the woods, for example, he immediately takes a thing out of his pants and he puts it into the DIVA, and stirs it about. And then when he has finished, the DIVA has a baby! That's why I want a soldier for my spoon."

"Whoa!" cried Mireille.

"I want a soldier to stir his thing in me," decided Valentine.

"I wanna be stirred too," pouted Mireille.

"I wanna be stirred like cheese soup," pontificated Valentine.

"I wanna be stirred like Betty Crocker batter," filibustered Mireille.

The two cousins solemnly high fived each other, then went on.

You needed one more option - I read The Eight specifically because of Heidi and Lisa.

I'm dim. I thought that you meant her other 2 books as sequels, which they aren't really but eh, I have a 7 month old and haven't slept in about 7 months...
