And now...

This morning, Lizzy and Brian's older dog, Mooshoo, died of a broken heart. She hadn't eaten since Thursday, and today, her heart stopped working.

We know she knew.

Oh, and the stupid idiots in the obit department at the LA Times ignored the request in the email I sent to them with the obit to call Brian's brother to confirm any details or payment info, and instead, emailed me 21 minutes before deadline to tell *me* to call them. I was somewhere over Colorado on the plane. So, of course, it didn't run today.

Does anyone know someone at the LAT who can let me know who to talk to regarding this?

Thanks, hon. Lumos seems a million years away but I am *so* glad I have that to just reflect on as a more peaceful time. Isn't that weird?

And, also, happy birthday.

Oh, hon. I don't think you can possibly realize how much I've been thinking of you. My heart just aches for you and your family and everyone affected by this. Please please let me know if I can do anything for you... if you don't have my cell number anymore, you can always drop me an email.

But in any case, ♥

With the housing market the way it is right now in South Florida, my parents may still be down there and I'll be coming for Thanksgiving again this year.

Much love to you, boo. I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Yeah, it's just a world of crap at this point. Airplane flight home was, at least, five hours of zen, no responsibilities and nobody to talk to. And I needed that.

I found this number at the LAT website:
Miss Ryan at (213) 237-7241 or (213) 237-7242 for rates and information.

If you'd like to register a complaint about the situation, I'd suggest trying to get hold of someone like the editor in chief or managing editor.
The main number there is: (213) 237-5000

Hope this helps.

They called Monday, apologized, and got it in for Tuiesday. So, not seeking firing, but still hoping they change their posted policies as they don't match up with the things they actually *do*. meh.

Oh yes. A late friend's cat went to nest on his now empty bed, and let herself die in a week. They know.

Best wishes to all of you.

Would it be gauche to suggest they be buried together? Not allowed by Jewish law? Hugs to everyone. I think about you constantly.

I'm really sorry that all of this happened. I haven't known what to say about any of it, and I guess I still don't -- what could I say that would matter? -- but just know there's one more person whose thoughts are with your family.

It just doesn't seem to end! I'm so sorry.

I still think "Where the Red Fern Grows" is about the saddest book/movie ever, and if I were to ever be an actress and need to cry at the drop of a hat, that is absolutely what I would dredge up and I could do it. I could cry right this second if I think too hard about that movie/book. Yes, animals know. Absolutely.

Wow, it just doesn't get easier, does it? Not that any further proof on a pet's ability to sense what goes on in the family but there it is, big as life.

I wish I had some wise words that would make this all easier. I don't. But I do have hugs and good wishes.

I actually really appreciate the rant. It's weirdly comforting to know other people have just been head-shakingly battered by those nincompoops.
