-- Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and injured a man during a hunting trip in Texas, The Associated Press reports.

I hope the guy is ok, but really, I shouldn't be laughing at this, should I?

Go ahead and have a chuckle. I'm sure he'll be fine. It sounds like his injuries are not that serious. He'll probably be laughing about it in a few months time too. I mean, how many people can actually say they got shot by the Vice President?

Priceless...

They actually did a newbreak on the olymics, which is how I heard about it.

*facepalm* This administration seems hell bent on becoming a laughing stock. The VP shot his buddy while quail hunting...

*has sudden, random image of Quailman from Doug being hunted by Dick*

Nope, you shouldn't, and I shouldn't either (poor creature!), and still I found myself grinning like a loon when I read it. It's so... scaringly unsurprising?

But the real question is this--is the guy he shot also a Repulikan? If so, is he one of those dissenting sort of Republikans....?

Too bad he doesn't go hunting with [censored]...

Perhaps the NRA should adopt him as their next poster-boy. Or offer him a gun safety course. O_o

Although, the story I read said the victim has..

"been appointed to several state boards, including when then-Gov. George W. Bush named him to the Texas Funeral Service Commission."

I hope he did a good job!!!

If you have a medical history of cardiac problems, should you really be GOING hunting? I mean, if you could suddenly squeeze a trigger because you have chest pain, perhaps you shouldn't be carrying a loaded firearm EVER. Now, that's probably not how it happened, and yet he STILL managed to injure someone. Think what could have happened if he HAD had some sort of medical problem while out hunting.

I just don't get the mindset that thinks of killing things as "sports", but this strikes me as Reason #438 why hunting is a Bad Idea, and hunting with the Vice President is a Worse Idea (unless you've got Chaney's back).

Think the VP is in such bad shape that he carries around an ER staff around with him...just in case.

No man we were all laughing. Jon Stewart last night was hilarious about this but now...yeah.

I wonder if they can charge Cheney with manslaughter if this man *knocks on WOOD* dies? I've never heard of such a thing in my lifetime. >.>
