At least none of the covers highlight the amazingness that is Grawp.
Unfortunately, the highlighting of Dumbledore makes it likely that Harry doesn't AK the guy in the first three pages of the book. Unless, of course, all that green stuff is Harry AKing him on the cover? Likely not, right?
And advanced potions-making? Guess he's still in a Snape class... and hopefully Draco will be in there, too? Any bets on whether Ron made it in there? My guess would be 200-3 against.
ETA: Of course, I forgot! It is ron & harry on the US & uk covers, right k2k people? And this is somehow linked to Ron's disclosure of his True Identity?

Oh, and um, anyone want to make an icon or three for FA?

Well, with the poor condition that book is in.... Is it secondhand? Is it Ron's?? LOL Or are we to look forward to some more Lupin time? Someone else making his potion.

I'd say it's probably Snape's personal copy, worn almost to bits first from his own use as a teenager and then from fifteen or so years of teaching.

"Advanced Potion Making" - which means that Harry will be taking NEWT-level Potions, presumably much against Snape's will. SQUEEEEE!

Not necessarily--you don't see Snape around, do you? He's not the only one who could teach potions...

Hmmmm....good point...so maybe Snape is off being a (double)(secret)-agent again and someone else teaches Potions. Hmmmm.....

It occurs to me, upon seeing the hi-res version of the British adult cover, that the Advanced Potion Making book is very, very old. So perhaps it's something about this specific book, rather than Harry taking NEWT-level Potions itself, that's important in HBP...

Pretty much all of the books in the wizarding-world are old, though, aren't they? Or at least, they're purported to be. It adds to the mystic quality.

I don't think that ALL books in the WW are necessarily as old as this specific book appears to be. I'm just wondering why THIS specific book, of all the books in the Wizarding World, appears on the cover of HBP. I'd like to assume it's not just some random old book!

Well of course not all, but a great deal of them are. Yes, speculation is nice :) (It just seems unlikely to me)
