Just wanted to update everyone on what's up with Jeanne. We're at the bottom end of the swirly-thing you see on the news; that means we might possibly theoretically get some tropical storm force gusts overnight, but that's about it, we think.

Services were shortened by about three hours today; they cancelled the family service entirely. It was pretty messy around 4ish, although right now, we're luckily not suffering anything serious. Hopefully we won't lose power; that can happen whenever a tree hits a wire, so...

So we had a hurricane/break the fast party. I made brownies with the kids, and everyone broke with bagels & lox & strawberries, except me, because I didn't fast (one shouldn't while pregnant). I made margaritas and was told they were good. I miss 'em.

Things should be back to normal tomorrow - one thing about having so many of these is that our recovery time is *much* quicker than it had been!

Glad to know you seem to be all right - seen from here (Paris) on TV, it looks horrendous (and it's what, your fourth hurricane in less than a month? Phew!)

So glad you made it thru YK safely! Did you save me any strawberries? I never see anything I really want to eat at a break-the-fast except plain bagels b/c I can't really eat dairy, so a strawberry would have been *very* welcome on my plate last night ;)

My RL friends and I were joking at our annual Kol Nidre dinner (at Outback, don't ask, it's just our tradition ;D) that although several wanted drinks with dinner, it wouldn't be fun to fast with a hang-over, but wouldn't it taste good in 25 hours? Only to realize that being the light-weights some of us are, we could probably split one drink on Saturday night and *still* be drunk!

::retyping this since I just had my second power flip in as many hours::

A big huggle is headed your way! I can't even imagine what it must be like to experience one civil emergency after another.

I didn't even get to go to services. Friday night I was packing and drove home, and they were cancelled on Saturday. It's always fun preparing for a hurricane on an empty stomach, and even more fun breaking the fast with a chicken sandwhich. The joys of living in Port St Lucie.
