Julia Child died. I'm off to have a rich and delicious lunch in her memory.

Well, at least she lived a long and good life right?

When I was in choir my freshman year of high school, our director would always make us talk like Julia Child. Apparently it was good for opening your voice up.

Wha--?

We'll have a rich, sauce-laden, buttery wake for her after the storm is sorted.

I was so sad when I heard that on the radio! While I don't cook much myself, I love watching cooking shows. She was such a great chef! I'll miss her.

Oh, no! I hadn't heard.

I had the great honor to intern at the National Museum of American History the summer her entire kitchen was installed into the permanent exhibit. She was so excited about the project, and gave the museum hours of interviews about her life and work. Whenever I needed a break from the job, I wandered down to the exhibit and watched the looping tape of clips from her shows...my personal favorite was the episode with the live lobsters. :)
