Jun. 28th, 2004 06:30 pmWhat was the original working title of Chamber of Secrets?
Harry Potter and the Half Loved Prince. I quite liked that title, unfortunately the story bore no relation whatsoever to the title by the time I'd finished.

Corrected, it's Half-Blood Prince. And we know that it's a typo, in part because last July, a company controlled by her agents in the UK filed a trademark application for "...Half-Blood Prince", and also because there are other typos in that interview, including "Godrick Gryffindor" and "Ferenzi".
So is she reusing an old title that she really loved? Is she giving out a list of possible titles for books she's already published?
I will say that I like this title more than that Storge title; I didn't really think that passage sounded like her anyway. I will note that at least one person on my flist would've prefered the next title be Harry Potter & the Half-blood's Pillar, as a reference to Harry/Seamus ;) and I'm sure that another hundred or so would've preferred Harry Potter & the Prince's Pillar as a reference to Draco, because he's a Black and true Blacks think that being a Black makes you practically royal. Another hundred would've said that Harry Potter & the Prince's Pillar referred to Harry/Ron, as Ron and the Weasleys are clearly descendents of Elizabeth Tudor's, via her romance with Robert Dudley, and since Elizabeth was a witch, just like her mother...
Right?
