Two Years On...
Feb. 11th, 2004 02:19 pmToday marks the second anniversary of this LJ, although I'd actually been on LJ six months before that, through the
fictionalley journal, which we don't really use anymore, as we use
fiction_alley instead. I feel like I should do some Take on the Fandom thingy, although I'm afraid I don't have the time to right now, but I'll try and do it later on today.
Tomorrow, in honour of my second year's completion, I'm going to visit
blogbinders and get both years bound in a readable format, and see just what the heck I was thinking X months, weeks, days ago. Great service, great people (and look for some fascinating partnering FA's going to be doing with them later this spring!).
So lieu of a bigcomprehensivepostaboutstuff, I'm going to post the fandom survey that I've been thinking about recently. PLEASE pimp it around, as I'd love to get a range of responses.
Before you begin, two notes -
#1. The "I'm Flourish, Penny or Rabican is supposed to be what those in fandom for more than 42 months should click. I suck at subtlety. Sorry!

Moan about newbies turning up and asking if we noticed the passage about the glint in Dumbledore's eye in book four.

Not much, just make history in it, and moan that I'm brilliant and right and how come no one else gets that? Oh, and of course, what Simon said.

Date: 2004-02-11 12:07 pm (UTC)For the "Sirius will be back" theory - I'm not sure if he'll be back or not, but if so, it would be as a portrait, ghost, or something like that - not a resurrection.

Date: 2004-02-11 12:33 pm (UTC)Explaining why I ship my ships would take a long time. The answers you provided apply to them in different combinations, depending on the ship.
Re:
This pretty much goes for me too. It depends on the ship also I read many different ships in fanfic so what I hope happens in canon and what I can read about in fic will vary. Also I can't believe I forgot to add Remus/Sirius into my list of ships.
I also don't really think Sirius is Stubby Boardman, Damnit! It was just a really funny answer that called me to 'click' on it. :D I think he's most likely dead and won't be back. (Although I'd be very happy if he was back and would giggle madly if he did turn out to be Stubby Boardman! :D)
*runs off to look at the shipping pictures*

Date: 2004-02-11 01:00 pm (UTC)Oh, and I can't believe I'm practically the baby of fandom! *sniffle* I know more people joined up in the post-OotP wave. I just know it. I have been reading the books since 2000, though, so I'm not that new to HP itself. Just the rabid fanaticism of it.

Date: 2004-02-11 01:22 pm (UTC)...Is four years really that long? Weep.
Am very amused that someone's answer to joining the fandom was delurking on FA, because there WAS no FA for at least a year while I was around. I remember
Ahh, fandom history.

Wow...I didn't realize I'd been in the Fandom for so long. I started reading them in July of 2000, and then I started talking about the books on Fanforum (where I had modded an Anime board).
I feel old. LOL. It's been four years, almost!
Geez.
