Two Years On...

Today marks the second anniversary of this LJ, although I'd actually been on LJ six months before that, through the fictionalley journal, which we don't really use anymore, as we use fiction_alley instead. I feel like I should do some Take on the Fandom thingy, although I'm afraid I don't have the time to right now, but I'll try and do it later on today.

Tomorrow, in honour of my second year's completion, I'm going to visit blogbinders and get both years bound in a readable format, and see just what the heck I was thinking X months, weeks, days ago. Great service, great people (and look for some fascinating partnering FA's going to be doing with them later this spring!).

So lieu of a bigcomprehensivepostaboutstuff, I'm going to post the fandom survey that I've been thinking about recently. PLEASE pimp it around, as I'd love to get a range of responses.

You demand full names in the shipping poll, and then don't provide nearly enough space. Not everyone has just a OTP and nothin' else. *sulks* Anyway - I listed my primary interests, but I'm not rabid about any of them anymore, am open to quite a few other things if done well (although I'm still not really interested in cross-gen or some of the canonically-nasty characters' love lives).

For the "Sirius will be back" theory - I'm not sure if he'll be back or not, but if so, it would be as a portrait, ghost, or something like that - not a resurrection.

Bloody fuck, I am so abysmal at math. I picked "between 30 and 36 months" when I started reading HP fic in March (ish) 2001. So that's coming up on 3 years. Am math-challeneged. Woe.

I only put my top five ships in because, yeah, me trying to list all my ships will take about three pages worth of comments.

Oh, and I can't believe I'm practically the baby of fandom! *sniffle* I know more people joined up in the post-OotP wave. I just know it. I have been reading the books since 2000, though, so I'm not that new to HP itself. Just the rabid fanaticism of it.

This pretty much goes for me too. It depends on the ship also I read many different ships in fanfic so what I hope happens in canon and what I can read about in fic will vary. Also I can't believe I forgot to add Remus/Sirius into my list of ships.

I also don't really think Sirius is Stubby Boardman, Damnit! It was just a really funny answer that called me to 'click' on it. :D I think he's most likely dead and won't be back. (Although I'd be very happy if he was back and would giggle madly if he did turn out to be Stubby Boardman! :D)

Like Simon, I lied (!) and claimed to be Flourish as well, having been in it for more than four years. What is this 3.5 years business? There is no category for the likes of me! Angst and w03. I don't even think I've been around that long--Gypsy has me whipped by at least a year or six months...

...Is four years really that long? Weep.

Am very amused that someone's answer to joining the fandom was delurking on FA, because there WAS no FA for at least a year while I was around. I remember dayafternext saying, "Yay for Schnoogle!" and me replying, "What's that?" She then said, "It's this new site--it's not running yet or anything, blahblah..." I think she'd seen some post on HP4GU about it. Hee.

Worry not, it I had to whip out my handy calculator to figure out that that 42 months was 3.5 years, and then I rechecked it like twelve times because I've been around for over four years and that meant that there wasn't even a category for me. Angst.

...and who did the H/T art? Is there some closeted H/T shipper fanartist I don't know about? We are a tiny, dinghy of a ship. I thought I knew everyone.
