Am at Neil Gaiman booksigning.

Can have him sign *one* book other than (unlimited numbers of) his 2 new ones. Should he sign:
A. 1st printing of original trade paperback of good omens, which is in poor condition
B. 1st printing of american gods which is in excellent condition

Meeble!

I'd probably say B, because then the overall value is better. But you also have to take into consideration which book you like better, and whether you want the signing to have a more personal meaning as well. :)

B. It's in good condition and it's more recent and it's his own.

(Also, I am so envious. Neil Gaiman book signing! Wow.)

hmmmm...a signed Good Omens would make it in better condition. :-)

Then again, it could fall apart and then that would be sad.

I'd say American Gods.

By the way...tell him a girl at Ohio State finds him exceptionally beautiful and talented and wants to have 10000 of his babies.

Just kidding.

My vote goes for whichever one is your favourite - whichever one means the more to you. If I had to choose any edition of LOTR to be signed (if the great JRR Tolkein was still with us) , I'd choose my mothers - simply because of the sentimental value.

Just my two cents :)

Oh, I wish I could be there! Instead, I got to spend three hours in the waiting room at the pediatrician's office with my coughing child for a two minute visit with the doctor. There was no way to make it to Ft. Lauderdale after that. Have fun! -- Jori

No, no, no!

Throw kid(s) in car and come on down! He's signing until eleven tonight! I won't still be here but you'll be able to get stuff, including the wolves in the walls (for kids!)
There's under 100 people here now...

The throw the kid in the car plan sounded great. I attempted it. It then failed miserably when the kid pulled out about two hours of homework. So between three hours in the pediatrician's office and two hours of watching a second grader write 'telling' and 'asking' sentences as s-l-o-w-l-y as they possibly could, I have a migraine the size of Montana and I really just want to cry. Glad you got to go, though!

I know it's not the same but they have about 300 copies of the wolves in the walls & the new endless in the store, signed and available for sale.

Thanks for the tip! As it always goes in my life, the rest of the week I'm free (except from the drudgery of homework) so I can get down there to buy a copy. *sigh*

I'd say A - it seems more personal to me.

Oh, wow, I am so jealous of you.

I'd say B because 1) it is in better condition and 2) because it is his book alone and not shared with Pratchett.

He wrote an excellent list of dos and don'ts for book signings, so I thought I'd give you the most important one:when you meet him, don't forget either your name or how to *spell* your name in a fit of fangirlish glee.

I'd probably have to pen it on my hand *sigh*

1. He did both. Squee!

2. Store staff came around and put post its in our books with what we wanted them inscribed to, so I had my name on an ickle bit of paper right in front of me. Made it v easy.

First off, I am now incredibly jealous. :: grins ::

And, B, simply because it's in excellent condition and he didn't co-write it with Terry Pratchett, so it is his own work. :)
