May. 15th, 2003 10:38 am1. Keanu v. pretty.
2. Fight scenes all v. pretty.
3. There will be ghost-twin-slash-fics.
4. The car chase fight scene went on about 90 seconds too long.
5. The ending was a bit of a surprise. No, not the part where he brings her back to life, or the part where he does a sort of pulse on the sentinals. The bit on the slabs. And not for any reason other than the fact that, after the fact, I realised that there was no reaction to the Other Comatose Person by Trinity. Like she didn't even notice he was there. Am I the only one who found that a bit... suspicious?
6. So what year is it, really? 2900 or something? Even later?
7. I didn't stay for the trailer. Will try to pop back in and see it today, unless anyone knows where it is online. Links?
8. Keanu v. pretty.
In case it's not obvious from the review, I did like it. I am glad I saw it. But on a lot of levels, I had a more enjoyable time at XMen. Maybe I was just too tired last night. Not sure. I will see it again, though, if I can.

Date: 2003-05-19 08:17 pm (UTC)I liked the second fight, the one after Neo meets the Oracle, because it showed off Neo's beautiful coat/dress so well, and I was sort of expecting it. I like seeing Neo so powerful, even though I knew how it would end. Most of the fights which would disturb me a year ago, I can now appreciate for the numbing violence, beatiful choreography and cinematography, and helping the point of the movie.
I also found the ending a bit disorienting.
As for it vs. X2, I felt that X2 felt like more of a movie; I walked into the theater hardly knowing anything about it, and the movie made its settings and charactars clear, and worked them through a conflict and complications to a very nice ending. The Matrix Reloaded, although it went much faster, was less continuous and felt like less of a movie that way.
Still, I had great fun watching them both!
