1. Keanu v. pretty.
2. Fight scenes all v. pretty.
3. There will be ghost-twin-slash-fics.
4. The car chase fight scene went on about 90 seconds too long.
5. The ending was a bit of a surprise. No, not the part where he brings her back to life, or the part where he does a sort of pulse on the sentinals. The bit on the slabs. And not for any reason other than the fact that, after the fact, I realised that there was no reaction to the Other Comatose Person by Trinity. Like she didn't even notice he was there. Am I the only one who found that a bit... suspicious?
6. So what year is it, really? 2900 or something? Even later?
7. I didn't stay for the trailer. Will try to pop back in and see it today, unless anyone knows where it is online. Links?
8. Keanu v. pretty.
In case it's not obvious from the review, I did like it. I am glad I saw it. But on a lot of levels, I had a more enjoyable time at XMen. Maybe I was just too tired last night. Not sure. I will see it again, though, if I can.

I saw it last night, too, and for me, it dragged in places. The main surprise for me, though, was at the end, where Neo was able to stop that bomb in reality, not in the Matrix. Why? I suppose we'll find out in November!

But yes, I had a better time with X-Men 2. Maybe it's because it wasn't as dark a movie as MR. At least, that's how it seemed to me. And the ending of MR was so abrupt, I cried out, 'It's not fair!' and my BF laughed at me. Humph... Seems to me too many people are taking lessons from Peter Jackson.

I thought the Zion rave/TriNeo (yes I'm a loser) sex scene was too long, I got bored.
Ditto on the ending being sort of weird, but I don't think she could see the other guy.
If I had known there was a trailer I would've stayed to watch it. mwah.

I agree with your review. Yes, I liked it, but it wasn't flawless. I think one would have more fun in XS because this movie really requires YOUR BRAIN. Not that X2 is mindless, but, yeah...

I can't tell you how much I agree with this sentiment, although I'm still in a funk over the disappointing aspects of Reloaded.

I agree with most of your sentiments, though to be honest, I didn't even notice the bit about Trinity not reacting to crazy-slice-his-hand-open guy who was lying on the next slab. I was too busy giggling. Couldn't seem to get the vision of Frankenstein's laboratory out of my head. All in all, I expected alot more. Many of the scenes (yes, even the fights) really dragged, and Neo always seemed to be lip-locked with some women or the other. Not to mention that startlingly frightening orgasm face. But hey, it's the MATRIX! I've waited a thousand years to see this much, and it definitely had it's high points.

Here's to hoping that the ghost twins and the Merovingian make it to Revolutions!

That's because Hugh Jackman is hotter than Keanu Reeves, Famke Janssen prettier than Carrie Ann Moss, Nightcrawler is WAY cooler than white dreadlock guy who looks like a punk Neanderthal excavation.

On top of all that, there's Pyro and Iceman in X2 as an added bonus.

OF COURSE X2 IS WAY COOLER.

I'll echo everyone else here; I agree with everything you've said. I don't really like Keanu Reeves, but he's very pretty in The Matrix. (I was admiring his coat thing as much as I was admiring him, though; that thing is cut so precisely, and made of so much nice fabric! And I would not be able to wear something that long without it looking like a dress. Keanu and his coats are both very pretty.)

I liked the second fight, the one after Neo meets the Oracle, because it showed off Neo's beautiful coat/dress so well, and I was sort of expecting it. I like seeing Neo so powerful, even though I knew how it would end. Most of the fights which would disturb me a year ago, I can now appreciate for the numbing violence, beatiful choreography and cinematography, and helping the point of the movie.

I also found the ending a bit disorienting.

As for it vs. X2, I felt that X2 felt like more of a movie; I walked into the theater hardly knowing anything about it, and the movie made its settings and charactars clear, and worked them through a conflict and complications to a very nice ending. The Matrix Reloaded, although it went much faster, was less continuous and felt like less of a movie that way.

Still, I had great fun watching them both!
