Ooooh!

Where do you think he is?

My guess?

Malfoy Manor.

That's exactly where I thought, too.

My cubicle buddy said one of the towers at Hogwarts or perhaps close the area where Dumbledore found the room full of the collection of chamber pots. :-)

Caught in the middle of a whirlwind, possibly in a) Malfoy manor b) the chamber pot room or c) the basement of Godric's Hollow.

I'd go for Hogwarts, purely on the grounds of the suspended candles.

No, I wouldn't assume that the candles are suspended. Because this is HP, they may well be suspended, but they may also be on some sort of a table. Because Harry's wand is in his left hand, and canon does not specify whether he is right or left handed, to me that suggests that he just grabbed it up again from somewhere, like the table that the candles are on.

I look forward to more speculation on this lovely cover!

<useless information> Harry states in PS/SS that he's right-handed when Ollivander asks which one is his wand arm

I'm more along the lines of the "secret corridor at Hogwarts" thought. I just can't think of a reason why Harry would be at the Maison Malfoy. Then again, I couldn't have ever thought of the whole Barty Crouch Jr. bit either.

isn't there some old tale about a hero who had to choose between several door and open the right one, or he'd be attacked by giant dogs and stuff hiding behind the wrong ones? JK Rowling might have been inspired by something like that.

Er, no.

am thinking some part of Hogwart's that will lead into one of the new worlds we've been told we'll see in Book V.

if it is Malfoy Manor though I'll buy a large box of aero bars.

One guess is some sort of circular room with doors all around, perhaps somewhere in Hogwarts. Gusts of wind seem to be coming from the open doors, which may help to explain why the candles are blowing in opposite directions. If there are doors all around and they're all open with wind bursting forth, they would all be blowing the flames in one direction and in a circle. It also looks like there are spirits about, judging from the ghostly atmosphere!

In the beginning I was confused by the vastly different British and US covers, especially by the Harry-less one. Then I started theorizing that Harry is the phoenix (metaphorically, maybe?) on the British cover, rising from the ashes and being reborn again; the American version would be a sort of tangent to that as Harry stands out among the candle flames. But then the idea didn't seem to fit since the covers can portray very different things so that was scrapped. :P

My guess: the potions classroom. Snape just walked in on him. It was Harry, in the potions classroom, with a shrivelfig.

I loved Clue. All about process of elimination, baby. Had my own way of marking the tablet and everything, to indicate who had what cards. Wow - I haven't played that since ... middle school?

I love the movie too, though. All those great lines. "Men should be like Kleenex: soft, strong, and disposable"

Ooh. Yes... wonderful lines. Very Nick and Nora.
How are you doing today? I'm a bit edgy, and wibbly, but I think everyone is. I know you're nervous, wondering how this will affect international travel, but I don't think you'll run into much more than longer security lines.

Everyone's tense. Interesting how it's manifesting itself. Witness my near-meltdown last night, and you know I *never* get emotional. I'm stressed about moving, and finding a job in another state, and I don't have much time left till my lease expires and I know things will work themselves out but...

*wibble*

Whoa...erm..ah...duude..

I'd speculate, but I know that I'll be wrong, since JKR is bound to throw us an amazing plot twist and catch us all completely off guard.

As I said to Cassie- the doors mean it's a game show, and the candles mean romance, so he's obviously on "Married by America". Sellout.

Didn't JKR mention that if she were Harry, she'd have taken a closer look at some room given mention in GoF?
