Oh piffle. It seems that abusive!lucius was Jason Issacs' idea... but Chris Columbus or Steve Kloves or even JKR would've stopped him if it had been all wrong, right?

Personally, I think that the abusive!Lucius (emotionally and physically, but not sexually) is very plausible. And also, you have a good point about someone stopping him if he'd been really wrong.

Although...from what I've heard, Isaacs doesn't seem to have made Lucius hyperabusive, just an adult Dudley with brains.

And it's no excuse for Draco to behave as he does.

I have now seen "woobie" used as a noun, an adjective and a verb. (There's almost certainly evidence of it being used as an interjection, too.) This probably qualifies it as an undefined, indefinite hobby word like "t00b" or (American) "wibble".
