Why o why is there a draco/legolas Yahoogroup?

Is anyone on it? *What* do they discuss?

A: No, his blond hair is nicer!
B: No, his blond hair is nicer!

You are so WRONG! Legolas has the best hair!

I must hate you now. You chose Draco over Legolas. Sorry, am off to defriend you.

You know I can't stand that bloody elf.
To be honest I'm not that sure about Draco either - bit of an annoying brat to be fair.

Still, lesser of two weebles and all that.

WHAT?! You can't stand Legolas?

Well, yeah, I knew that, which is why I keep teasing you about it.

And yeah, canon Draco is a spoiled little brat who needs a swift kick in the arse. My feet are itching to do it too.

But you know my preferences all to well. ;)

Draco is prettier. He doesn't look like someone's big sister.

And suddenly, I don't feel nearly as tragic about moderating a Snape/Lily list...

Snape/Lily? You haven't been reading HPfGU this week, have you? It's filled with snape/lily shippers proclaiming canon evidence for their ship.

Now, canon evidence is, at least, one thing that Draco/Legolas never has to worry about. Can you just see their first discussion?

Legolas: My ears look like that because I'm an elf, you sexy blond young wizard, you.

Draco: You mean you're an elf? Like, a house-elf? And you want to shagsnog with me? Ewwwww - my father said that I should let the elves serve me, but not in that way! Go slam your bloody ears in an oven, you tea-towel wearing sexy blond old elf person, you.

Time and again I'm happy I didn't have time to switch from no-mail. Blah!

And I'm positive there IS canon-evidence for Draco/Legolas. It explains why his ears look like that, they were indeed to often jammed in said oven-doors. Tolkien-Elves exist in the HP universe!

HP4GU? I have about a fortnight's emails sitting somewhere on my computer, waiting to be read.

Offhand, I can think of two points of canon evidence for Snape/Lily: asphodel is a form of lily, associated with the dead, and wormwood is a plant that likes a shady situation (according to a botanically inclined friend).

I didn't say it was good canon evidence. But it amused me when I realised it.

And I'm suddenly thinking up kinky uses for tea towels, and I'm not in a good mental place.

Legolas has nicer hair - he washes it every day (except when Arwen borrows his shampoo). But Draco is much sexier. And Draco/Legolas is a nice idea, but....rather unrealistic *shrugs* I suppose, in answer to your question, it's for the same reason there is Narnia slash, as [livejournal.com profile] penelope_z was saying some time ago. It's to twist and pevert our little minds (not that they aren't already).

The actual discussion goes more
A: If Draco were an elf, and Legolas a human, would their relationship be more improbable?
B: Yes, because Draco as an elf would feel he'd have to old the elvish standards of not sleeping with mortals.
C: Yeah, but Legolas wouldn't be hot if he was an elf.

I actually have no idea. I'm not a member. Just find that amusing.

"C: Yeah, but Legolas wouldn't be hot if he was an elf."

That should be "C: Yeah, but Legolas wouldn't be hot if he wasn't an elf."
Sorry for wasting your time. *murders keyboard smugly*

The illusion of Legolas' hotness was destroyed for me when I heard him talking in an East Kent accennt - Orlando Bloom for me now will forever be Dave the Chav from Canterbury with his Golf GTI and Gillingham football shirt with the collar pulled up.

*Is a much bigger Draco fan anyway*

::loffs Legolas more, and will marry him when she's of legal age::

I'm telling you. That group is to form the ultimate elder/child slash. A teenage boy with a 2000/3000 year old guy. ::tsks:: I never liked adult/kid. Doesn't leave one of them for me.

And for the record, Legolas's hair is prettier. ;-)

Funny you should mention Elves in the HP Universe... I have a story for you, if you're interested.

His Majesty's Secret Service

The Elves are very loosely based on Tolkien, but they are not Tolkienian Elves by a long shot. And Ryan has brown hair, cut fairly short, not blond, but it does involve Draco--not in a very slashy way, though.

Obviously Draco is prettier. But their relationship would never work. I mean, Legolas would act like a grandpa to Draco.
L: I remember the days when arrows only cost a tuppence for a bundle. Hell, I remember the days when you couldn't even buy them, you had to make them yourself.
D: What the fuck! Why would a tuppence be around 2000 years ago!
L: I remember the days when chillun' would respect their elders.

*snicker*

Possibly because they got sick of waiting for HP 5 to come out, and so coupled their favourite character with the next best thing. Legolas, a swoon-worthy elf.

It just goes to show how bored people in the fandom are getting :D

Draco/Legolas?

So they can rip off each other's wigs and have bitch-fights in green tights.
