1. SO amazing to see everyone at Dragon*Con, but so miserable to not get to see everyone since I had to leave so ridiculously early. Aaron is en route to Colorado, and I wish I were still in Atlanta. But we'll definitely plan to go again next year - although not planning to buy tickets in advance because seriously? For the low, low price of ONE DAMNED DOLLAR more, [livejournal.com profile] kerryblaze and I could have purchased our tickets on-site in a line that lasted between 45 seconds and six minutes, rather than wait in line for two hours and fifty five minutes. PLUS the space had no cellphone signal for AT&T or T-Mobile, which was beyond complicating. Kept walking outside to check emails.

1. If anyone sees one of the Comic Con Harry Potter bags in the Vendor Room at D*Con, please email or call me immediately! Mine went missing, sigh.

2. Definitely going to the Creation Supernatural con in LA next March, as it's the weekend we were heading to San Diego to see Aaron's parents anyway. Is anyone else purchasing tickets today who'd like to sit with me? Is anyone unloading a ticket for a seat in the first five rows that they purchased last March? LMK today and I'll buy that instead of buying one from them.

2b. It is a definite no-go for me on attending Wincon this year. Denver is so so difficult to get to from Miami, and since Aaron and I have a work-related trip to LA in October, I can't be away from the kids that many times in one month, not this fall. Any idea where it'll be in 2010? Hopefully somewhere I can fly directly to.

3. Things are getting very exciting re the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I may be going up on the 15th for their Next Big Announcement, and from what I've seen of the construction, everything is going to be amazing. And so is Infinitus! Remember, the $165 discount rate is only available until Monday - prices go up to $185 then - and that includes the Welcome and Leaving Feasts, the Ball, all formal programming (other than add-on meals), all at-the-hotel informal programming, common room access, Quidditch and more. More news coming later this month...

Off to swim! Have a great holiday weekend for those in the states, and a great weekend otherwise.

I posted a poll about ten days ago as to who's going to be at Dragon*Con and/or EyeCon, and I included another thing that we thought would be taking place this fall but it isn't. Ah well.

If you are going to either, please [Poll #1247582]

In other news, tickets go on sale tomorrow for the Festival for the Senses at EPCOT's Food & Wine festival - we're going on October 23? 24? Whatever that Saturday is, with friends from Miami, but if anyone else is in town and wants to meet up there, 407-WDW-DINE has tickets as of tomorrow morning. Not sure of the rest of the schedule for that trip.

Also, I made a post earlier today about the open positions with Team Azkatraz on the committe chair/coordinator level - if you're interested please apply! More coordinator/volunteer positions including the Art Gallery chair description are coming soon! And registration should open this week, or early in September, too!
