Man, we had no fucking idea, did we? (And clearly, neither did Chris Columbus.)

If you're following the #SecretStreetView hashtag on Twitter, or the "coordinates" on various Potter websites, you'll have seen that JKR is about to make an announcement about something or other.

There are hidden letters and you have to find them - and when the letters got hacked by WizardingLife, they realized it was POTTERMORE.

So I went over to the US Trademark Office's website (hi, chaeche!) and discovered a few things that I just tweeted about:

Re the new LJ/IP logging issue. Yes, it's been possible forever for people to find your general location using reverse-IP sites (although it doesn't really work if you use a mobile or iPad to post) but it's taken time and been an extra step.

I don't particularly care to know where all of you are posting from but I have had occasional anon-poster issues so I've turned off ip logging for everyone but anons just so it's a nonissue for those of you who're uncomfortable with this new tweak.

I saw XMen 1st Class last night and may post spoilage thoughts when I'm back at my desktop where open tabs are waiting but my nonspoilery review is: loved the stories, I agree with McAvoy's quote re Charles and Erik, that scene with the Miami chyron was Islamorada, and one specific moment brought to mind yahtzee63's Queer Eye for the Fandom Guy and Magento.

I was lucky enough to get to do a cover, some icons/ephemera and a vid/trailer for monsterfan's spn_j2_bigbang fic, Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Here's the summary:

After discovering Adam, Sam and Dean wonder if John Winchester fathered any other children. They soon find out he did: their half-sister Mary Sue. The boys set out to find her, but it's not a happy reunion. Mary Sue is convinced they're a closeted gay couple and is hell-bent on helping them come out. She and her best friend even write about them in series of controversial blog posts. Meanwhile, her college campus is besieged with murders that Sam remembers reading on the Supernatural fan website, which he's developed a strange addiction to, and something weird is going on between Sam and Dean, leading Dean to conclude they've been trapped in an alternate universe where slash fan fiction is coming true.

I had such an amazing time working with monsterfan on the art and vid I did for her fantastic fic. And I can't believe I'm done with all my BigBang responsibilities so early and now all I have to do is sit back and enjoy the other stories as they come in!

I need to remove the vocals from a song, or edit it to cut out the choruses and still sounds good and not choppy. Anyone able to help me with this, sometime this week (today or tomorrow, even)?

The boys are off on a golf trip this weekend with my parents, so Catie and I have been doing a lot of mommy-daughter stuff, like swimming and going to the Science Museum in Lauderdale and hanging around the bookstore, and things that can get complicated when trying to run three kids of very diverse ages and interests around the town.

Had an incident at Target yesterday where the checkout-person, who's supposed to enter the last four digits of the credit card, screwed it up and charged the whole thing to the card three or maybe four times, and each time the computer told her it didn't go through, but I managed to call Aaron and tell him before he got the "Your Account Has Issues Now" email from the credit card company and they sorted it within five minutes, but still, is there anything more annoying than spending over an hour stocking your kids' camp clothing (bags of socks and shirts and batteries for reading after dark) to find out that you can't walk out wiht any of it because of the clerk?

Teach me to stop shopping at Target (and yes, I know the issues but when it comes to camp shopping, my options are basically Target and Wal Mart and neither are very good options. And at least Target gives a portion of the proceeds to our elementary school).

Luckily, Catie had a book while we were waiting for all of this to be solved, and I had Hunger Games-verse fanfic.

Yes, I finally read all three of the Hunger Games books in a two day spiral into madness last Sunday and Monday. I've been waiting to read it because I wanted to read it with Harry, but he told me he wants to read it at camp with his friend Dawson, so I ended up downloading all three to my kindle-app and read them switching between my ipad and iphone.

Are there any icons without the movie cast? I would love at least one "May the odds..." icon in a color I like, and yes I appreciate the irony.

This week is a week to finish a slew of Harry Potter and Supernatural fanvids, the former for my Leakycon project (although I may post them online beforehand) and the latter for the amazing, creative BigBang fic I am vidding for. If you haven't seen the vid/trailer-for-the-series Through the Pensieve, you should check it out. It's the kind of thing that makes me feel juvenile and incompetent re the vid I made for lubricus2011 over the last few weeks. Sigh. Still, must finish the ones I've planned to do, if only to get them out of my head.

I'm putting together a fanvid showcase that will be part of Informal Programming at LeakyCon in July in Orlando; I've got a solid collection of Harry Potter fanvids (although I have only just started asking the vidders for permission) but I know there must be some that are beyond my radar screen - too new, or too old. Now, I know he didn't say "romance" or anything close to it, but if he really said this, that would be neat (although not something the show might incorporate).

as I had to stop halfway through the first episode to go pick up my husband, whose car battery died at his office. Luckily, despite the 45 minute interruption, it was wonderful to enjoy this ( cohesive, wrap-uppingly wonderful Show! )
