Some of the district-specific Hunger Games posters were released today, and I think I finally found a use for my Tumblr. I still have no idea how to link to the exact post, but they're from Seat42f, and I put them up here and

The District 4 one isn't up yet, but the Facebook page where it'll be is here - how could I be from South Florida, ocean-touched and boat-surrounded as it is, knowing that in the world of Panem it's all under water, and not have an affinity for District Four?

Gah, I really hope this film is all it can be. And in other news, I am back home and hopefully not leaving the state for the rest of the year; Orlando is far enough to travel for a few months, including this weekend for the Ascendio site visit.

If you're newly on Pottermore, I have a poll asking for what your username there is - it's here - I'm WingSpirit211 (Ravenclaw) but I haven't been in there in over a week because of the holidays and travel.

Am finally caught up on Supernatural (YAY and I also LOVELOVELOVE my [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas prompt!!), saw Glee tonight (good songs, Will is annoying, and I have no idea if they're going to take any of the real issues seriously (including the Don't Hurt Rachel's Feelings ludicrousity) beyond this episode, and I want at least two of Rachel's dresses) and the second half of the Doctor Who finale, but I think I have to watch the first half of the ep for the second half to make sense. Tomorrow, at the gym, maybe.

Right, but Panem is fairly large -- the Capitol is in the Rockies, and Katniss is from Appalachia. I'm looking at the wiki page on the universe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunger_Games_universe) right now, but it doesn't have this level of detail (as least as far as I've read).

I remember trying to figure out which district Texas was, and couldn't.

Hmm. Idk. I just remember thinking that however large they said it wasn't was probably a lie, lol.

[livejournal.com profile] aimmyarrowshigh put together an amazing, logical map of Panem, including justification for why she put which district where. The post is here. I've pored over a lot of maps of Panem, but this is the one I find most useful. And it's pretty, too.

I'm pretty sure Texas is part of four, and I thought that before I saw the map that [livejournal.com profile] sabaceanbabe linked to, although I am not 100% sure why. Possibly just the proximity to water and the importance of fishing as an industry there.

Reading that list on Wikipedia now, I think the eastern half is probably underweater/District Four, and the western half is probably District Ten (livestock). That's not much like the map you linked, though.
