SPN WTF MEEP.
and would appreciate fixit/coda fics regarding
1. That Dean has read A Wrinkle in Time.
That's a smidge of it, but this is the whole of it - this is why Dean said what he did to Sam, and in fact, why he came up with that idea, that plan that should have killed him and ended the world in the first place:
And somewhere in the back seat of the Impala, Sam read it too, probably when Dean tossed it to him, thinking about it but not. I don't want the teacher who pressed it into Dean's hands, or the librarian who led him to it on the Recommended shelf that Dean usually stayed far away from, whatever library and whatever school they were in. It's part of the car and part of them, and their childhood, in a way that something like American Gods couldn't have been (because that came out when Sam was in high school), and it reinforced Dean's childhood belief that he was there to protect Sam, always and forever.
2. That God took Ellen and Jo out from that explosion in a blink of a second and currently, they live down by the ocean, they're takin' care to look for sharks who hang out in the local bars and feed right after dark. Somewhere in Fiji, under strict instructions not to come back to the states or contact Sam, Dean or Bobby, ever.
3. That when we don't see Crowley and Castiel next season they will be tooling around the world Fighting Crime. And Crowley will teach Castiel some new curse words.
4. That it's adorable and probably complete random that Chuck (the series) had its renewal announced while Chuck (theprophet god (yes that lowercase was on purpose)) was narrating Supernatural.
5. That Kripke will never break up with fandom, but he really does respect us too much.
6. That I'm not sure whether Chuck was God or simply *a* god, and from my not-a-Christian perspective, Show actually made it vaguely vague.
What do you believe?
And yes, I am somewhat calmer than I was last night, but I think I need a massive re-watch of the last few episodes. And thank everything that is good and beautiful for the lovely codas that are already showing up from

But you see, Meg, just because we don't understand doesn't mean that the explanation doesn't exist.
That's a smidge of it, but this is the whole of it - this is why Dean said what he did to Sam, and in fact, why he came up with that idea, that plan that should have killed him and ended the world in the first place:
Charles. Charles, I love you. My baby brother who always takes care of me. Come back to me, Charles Wallace, come away from IT, come back, come home. I love you, Charles. Oh, Charles Wallace, I love you.
Tears were streaming down her cheeks, but she was un-aware of them.
Now she was even able to look at him, at this animated thing that was not her own Charles Wallace at all. She was able to look and love.
I love you. Charles Wallace, you are my darling and my dear and the light of my life and the treasure of my heart. I love you. I love you. I love you.
Slowly his mouth closed. Slowly his eyes stopped their twirling. The tic in the forehead ceased its revolting twitch. Slowly he advanced toward her.
"I love you!" she cried. "I love you, Charles! I love you!"
Then suddenly he was running, pelting, he was in her arms, he was shrieking with sobs. "Meg! Meg! Meg!"
"I love you, Charles!" she cried again, her sobs almost as loud as his, her tears mingling with his. I love you! I love you! I love you!"
A whirl of darkness. An icy cold blast. An angry, resentful howl that seemed to tear through her. Darkness again.

Re: More thoughts on SPN 5.22
Date: 2010-05-14 04:06 pm (UTC)I'll disagree on Chuck as God... possibly *a* god, since SPN established other gods, but not necessarily *the* Christian God. With the hubbub over the amulet, I'm trying to remember if Dean and then Castiel would've had it, when they were near Chuck.

Date: 2010-05-14 05:35 pm (UTC)There are a lot of problems with Chuck being god. Mostly that necklace that's supposed to burn hot when it's near him. I like the idea of him being god. Especially, as my friend put it, from a writer's perspective. MAYBE CHUCK IS KRIPKE!

Date: 2011-01-03 12:02 am (UTC)After watching Seasons 4 and 5 completely, I think the fact that the amulet does not react in some way when Dean has it or Castiel is flying around with it supports the theory that Chuck is not AngelDaddy!God. This however assumes: (1) that the amulet works; (2) that it works how we think it works; and (3) that Show is consistent. I have major doubts about #3.
Now I guess Chuck could just be a god too. I really see him as just a prophet. He disappeared because the story ended and he was no longer needed. The new writing staff is now responsible. ;)
Also about watching the show from a not-a-Christian perspective, I have trouble defining who AngelDaddy!God is. I have always had issues with the term Judeo-Christian so I choose to view Christian God = AngelDaddy!God. Maybe Cas will just convert to Judaism in Season 6...
