Just watched Show!

And it was just...
PLOT! And character development! And Zach the Dick! And Castiel! Fighting Dean, full of love for Dean, trusting Sam, shirtless and strong and smart and bait.
Oh, and Sam saying just exactly the right thing and being the big damned hero knowing that Zachariah could and would kill him if given a chance and believing in Dean and having that trust returned and Dean returning to his trust in Sam and seeing him as a grown-up finally.
Also, Adam actually thinking, eventually (I guess it takes a bit of time to get over being dead?) - and am I right that Adam may possibly have the ability that Dean - and the guys in the bar - do not, to see an angel's face and hear an angel's voice and be able to actually hear it? And did I see a little bit of anger/sadness in Bobby's face that angels keep bringing Winchesters back from the dead - even cremated Winchesters like Adam - but he cannot have his wife back and that is unfair.
Of course, if angels - or God - can bring cremated Winchesters back, then does that mean they can bring back a corporeal John?
Everyone was bait in this episode - Adam was, and Castiel made himself into bait with the sigil on his chest, and did he leave the angel-killing sword on the ground for Dean to pick up, or did Dean have one going in and if so did Sam know about it?
This was such a good, solid, intense, thinky, dreamy, heart-wrenchingly well done episode - well-acted by everyone! - and I cannot wait to watch it all again.
In other words, erotic co-dependence for the win!

Date: 2010-04-16 02:26 am (UTC)I think maybe. Because not only was he not burning up there at the end, but he actually looked like he was listening to someone say something -- a little terrified perhaps, but understanding nonetheless.

Date: 2010-04-16 01:11 pm (UTC)I want this. If for no other reason than I want John Winchester to be God's Vessel. ha ha.
I seriously need to rewatch it tonight. I was in a daze last night trying to watch it and I even had to pause it for a quick catnap right in the middle. I hate these damned meds. They're messing with my enjoyment of Show!

Date: 2011-01-02 09:21 pm (UTC)Loving your micro-reviews, btw. When I first watched Show back in 2007, I watched completely out of order - but there were only 34 episodes when I started, which is weirdly different from now. It's an interesting perspective to get from watching.

Date: 2011-01-02 09:52 pm (UTC)Also I have already been spoiled in that I had seen these episodes before I started my Season 4 and 5 marathon. So no worries about spoilers.
And yes, now I can beta your SPN vids with some actual knowledge of the show! *hopes for some Dean/Castiel*

Date: 2011-01-02 10:01 pm (UTC)The thing about spoilers is, even if you're spoiled for it overall, you should be able to experience the nuances of the various episodes as you see them. Well, apart from Castiel with pr0n-ish duct tape on his mouth.
