Oh, Glee! I don't know what I loved most about this episode I really enjoy Artie's voice so his Dancing With Myself solo was fantastic and to follow that up with the bit with Tina was heartbreaking, and of course the diva-off was amazing as was Kurt's self-rehearsal and the way they cut the songs together, and I'm interested in the Sue's-personal-story in a way that, well, I'm not actually interested in Emma. They moved the plot terrifically with the whole Finn-Quinn-Puck situation and while I might've once been ok with them as an OT3, both of the boys have so many anger/jealousy issues, I don't see it as a viable situation. Sigh, why is he flirting with Rachael again?

Don't the previews for next week look adorable! But I'll be in LA and probably won't see it until I fly home the next day as we're going out with friends from college on Wednesday night. But even so, I am so, so, so glad to have GLEE back!

And not just because a full season run for GLEE means that Fox has cut back its order to Past Lives from 14ish episodes to SIX, which is fantastic because that show is truly one of the worst things I have ever seen in my life. I ranted about it a bit when I saw the pilot at comic con, and I wish it were better because the cast members were all lovely but the pilot was not only full of plot holes, it was all premised on a teenaged boy being the reincarnation of a dead eight year old girl, and her "soul" was manifesting in his body. So it's not just a kid in peril, it's a kid who is actually dead and I'm sorry, after an hour of focus on the details of what happened, and her really tragic and nightmare-inducing murder, I am glad that the show is not going to make it beyond six episodes.

Sorry, I'm in month five of having occasional nightmares based on that episode so it makes me a bit ranty. If you have any Kids In Peril triggers, do not watch the show or even read summaries of the first episode. Spare yourself what I put myself through. And yes, I know I put this bit outside a cut tag, because I think it's important that people know before any of the PR for the show begins.

Hell, Fox, why are you even going to air those six episodes instead of more, oh I dunno, Dollhouse. Which, yes, has its issues but they don't involve murdered kids.

Sue's story was so bizarre and random, but then again so is Sue so I guess I shouldn't have expected anything less? lol. I understand she needs backstory, but the distinct lack of Epic Offensive And Not Caring Sue made the episode less fun that it could have been :-(

I ship Artie/Tina so hard now i dont even know X-D I hope they get over Artie's weird reverse discrimination thing because I just wanna squish them together **squishes them**

I found the Sue Sylvester story fascinating. She turned out to be the one character who didn't need sensitivity awareness on disabilities. She was not going to treat Becky any different. And I love that she wore a bright red track suit to read "Little Red Riding Hood" to her sister.

i am SO glad to have GLEE back in my life! it was the perfect way to end my day yesterday, and i think my dream had a recurring "defying gravity" motif. :D

artie's finally getting to have some of the spotlight was long overdue and so nice. he's got a great voice -- i liked the "dancing with myself" number, but i'd like to hear him sing something that really shows off his range! my first reaction to his reaction to tina's faking her stutter was "oh, come on, what's the big deal?" which led to "wait, 'what's the big deal?' am i really that stupid?" and at that moment i think i understood this week's episode. i love sue more than i can say, and though i was hesitant at first to embrace her subplot this week, i think they tied it all together really well, and i can understand why it happened as it did.

i was also glad that they moved along the quinn-finn-puck plot -- i don't really know who to root for, because i don't like quinn much. i think my ideal resolution would be that finn and puck decide to ditch her and go off and frolic together. xD i love rachel (i know...) and since she seems to like finn, i guess i'm rooting for that... but really as long as they keep singing, i'll be okay with whatever crazy plots they throw at us.

of course the diva-off was AMAZING (every time lea michele sings i melt into fanboy goo), and getting to hear mercedes show her stuff on "proud mary" gave me CHILLS. that was a tremendous final number and i'm probably going to have to watch it again after i finish this comment. XD i am consistently impressed by just how good these kids' voices are (with the exception of quinn, whose face is nice enough that i get why she was cast), and i love that the show gives such talented young stars a chance to shine. i feel refreshed for now, but i know how hard it will be to wait until next week!

I watched GLEE for the first time last night. I'm very glad I did. I can see why so many people love this show, and Heidi, the music! the music!! I've been on a "movies about music" tear lately on Netflix (inflicting it on my DH, who doesn't care about music at all, apparently), which has included stuff like ONCE and SHUT UP AND SING. I'm going to enjoy having a TV series about music to look forward to every week :D
