THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Jul. 22nd, 2009 02:19 pmWe're still a little too zonked out from the weekend to make the coherent post praising all the staff and volunteers and presenters and drawblers and drabblers and attendees for being phenomenal - we'll try to manage that over the weekend while we're waiting for David Tennant's panel - but we did want to add a few notes before we take off:
1. There's a Friending Meme here on
2. The hotel staff and security folks told us that despite a few bottles left on the floors and a few incidents of snogging in public rooms after hours, we were the most fun group that they've ever had. Kudos to all of you for being fantastic.
3. I know we had many more things we wanted to say, but I am falling asleep in my seat at the airport; we know we'll never be able to catch up on livejournal and blog posts, so please link to your con reports in the comments - we're always interested in constructive criticism and issues as well as squee.
4. Things for Infinitus are getting off the ground - a bunch of people already registered during Azkatraz - so check out the the website and subscribe to the newsletter to learn more! See you next summer (unless we see you at Comic Con first).

Date: 2009-07-22 10:00 pm (UTC)Did you know the hotel threatened to shut down the ball if we didn't stop people from sitting in the windowsills? I'm glad they still thought we were fun after that.

Date: 2009-07-23 03:12 am (UTC)Some of the hotel staff told me the exact same thing. They said we were a lot of fun, and that they really enjoyed having us. I'm always glad to hear things like that. It makes me feel that we've represented ourselves well, and I like making a good impression as a community. YAY US!
HAVE FUN AT COMIC CON!!!
(omg so jealous)

Date: 2009-07-24 02:27 am (UTC)My initial thoughts are:
a) The programming booklet was AWESOME.
b) I wish names for the ID badges had been in larger print, so people could be more easily identifiable from distances greater than 12 inches.
c) Fantastically easy-to-reach location for day commuters.
d) Wish more of the programming summaries online had been updated; some of them never progressed past "summary pending" when clearly you DID eventually have that information and some things weren't on there at all. Would have helped us day-trippers plan what we wanted before arriving.
e) More vendors, please?
f) Wish I could have met Gwen, but glad I got to see you, albeit briefly. :)
