Apr. 14th, 2009 08:46 pmWithin three minutes today, I got an invitation to a sneak preview of the HP exhibit at the Science Museum in Chicago and a confirmation that the release date for HBP has been moved to July 15, instead of the 17th.
So, are there any hotels that are actually near the museum, or should we plan to taxi over there or take the El?
And as re HBP, Team
azkatraz is working with Team LeakyMug, the movie theater and the hotel to see what's best for everyone planning to come to Azkatraz. I don't want to say anything more at this point, but it will be fun and fantastic, even if people have seen the movie once or twice before. I mean, those of you who were at POAIMAXNYC back in 2004 - it wasn't the first time seeing the film for about half the attendees there but it was a fantastic experience getting to see it in a theater full of fellow fandomers, and getting to discuss it afterwards - which we are going to get to do all weekend as we are
kickin_azkatraz.
In other words, there might be a bit of GRR ARGH today, but that day, it'll all be wonderful. So keep your eye on
azkatraz and the website for updates.

Taking a taxi, there really isn't any El station that's a close enough walk. The museum is sort of... away from a lot of places. Are you going to stay in the city?
And have fun!

Date: 2009-04-15 01:02 am (UTC)Yeah, I wouldn't plan on the El. If you're set on public transportation, the Metra could be an alternative, if you stay downtown. I don't think there are really any hotels super close to the museum, from my recollection (which, admittedly, I haven't been to that area in years).
