Plugs! Plugs!
Apr. 6th, 2009 01:22 pmI'm flying to LA in about five hours, but wanted to get a few things in under the wire:
1. The fourth cool thing I was hoping would happen for Azkatraz will happen! I just got an email about it - and all I can say right now is that it involves the Masters of Potter Administration programming slate, and it's another guest to add to the list that already includes Time Magazine book critic Lev Grossman, the creators of the 20Q Snitch game, the creators of Dreamwidth, an attorney from the EFF and more!
And remember - on the 16th of April, cost of a full registration goes up to $165 - and there is a chance that we'll sell out of full registrations and new Merlin's Circle registrations* before June, so we are about to introduce a registration that will include all programming, the common room, the gallery, Quidditch, all informal programming, and the ball, but not the Welcome or Leaving Feasts, since what we're running out of is room at the feasts (we're capped by space at about 850 people), and not space in the programming rooms.
* However, we will continue to allow for upgrades from regular registrations to the Merlin's Circle registrations until June 30.
2. My friend Lisa is auctioning off sketch cards of women of Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Comics (as well as a few other random characters!) to raise money for The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. You may know Lisa from her other fundraising endeavours -- Project Teddy Bear and Knock Out Breast Cancer. This year, Lisa's walking in two 39.3 mile Avon Walks and trying to raise $15,000 to fight breast cancer.
You can check out all 28 of the cards on her site: http://www.lisawalks.com/sketch.htm Go quickly! Auctions start ending tomorrow (Tuesday) at noon ET.
