Dear LiveJournal:
Dec. 18th, 2008 07:37 pmYou have done something that ties with the awesomeness of the raised maximum on the number of people one can friend.
Paid users (and permanents) can now read their flist by date, going back in time as far as possible.
This is useful when one's been away a few days and has gone beyond skip=950, but even more wonderful, you can now read the posts on your flist from Important Dates like the release of HBP, the announcement of the release date for OotP or the recent election day squee!
You can view reactions to individual episodes of your favorite tv show, or to the tsunami from 2004, or the growing understanding of the destruction of New Orleans, or see how many people wished you a Happy Birthday back in 2004 or anything.
Wonderful tool, LJ.
Thank you!
And huh, this icon is accurately applied to this feature, despite the fact that said icon was created to be snarky towards LJ. Weird.

Date: 2008-12-19 01:03 am (UTC)Also great is that not only is it a very good way to revisit memories and important events in a well-organized way, it also includes all the posts of people you hadn't friended yet back then so there's so much new stuff, new perspectives to be found. (Because who has the time to dig though all of each individual journal of each new person you friend?)
This is just all kinds of neat. Yay! :)
