If you don't live in the US. If you don't own a tv. If you weren't home. If you were home, but were busy doing something else. If you were sleeping. If there was a fire drill halfway through. If you heard it on the radio but didn't get to watch it.

Remember! Don't let up! Make history!

ETA for the marriage meme: Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

The bit about his mother, her fight not only with cancer but with insurance companies and medical costs, felt like a bullet to the chest. He gets it. This is the first candidate who I can say knows exactly how it feels to be me.

God, please let him win. Please let him win.

In all honesty, I like him. I like him a lot. I think he has the right spirit to become a great president, and give hope to the US, and by so, the rest of the world.

But I did find this a little saccharine, and the music was too much.

That's my honest opinion. :)

Heh, infomercial and commercial music is always cheezy - I just tune it out instinctively these days...

I think in part, this was also meant for a different generation-- the retiree or near-retiree folks who don't necessarily use the internet but who will see a special like this as a return to earlier Presidents...there was a distinctly Reagan-ish feel to the special; a lot of the cinematography reminded me of old Reagan campaign ads.

Thank you for posting that here. Eldest and I were thrilled to watch it. (She's a big Obama fangirl who resents the fact that a thirteen year old isn't old enough to vote.)

Jon insisted I help him post a reply on the YouTube version of the infomercial - "from your biggest fan jonny boy.!" They're *so* cute, all the under-18s. They can't vote for themselves, so we have to vote for them.

Okay now seriously Heidi... WTF ARE WE GOING TO DO IF HE DOESN'T GET ELECTED.

We have election night watching planned for next week and I'm not sure whether to bring BEER or KLEENEX.

Protest. I have already declared my intent to protest-- because if he doesn't get elected, it's going to be for the same reason Al Gore didn't.

Wow!

It's amazing to see how personable he is, and how people are so drawn to him. It's not just charisma and eloquance, it's pure honesty.

I'm so jealous. We haven't had a leader like that in far too long!

As I said a couple of weeks ago: "America and the world do not need another four years of negativity. Especially now, when fear is playing such a big part in the downwards spiral in global share markets.

The world needs someone who's not afraid to have hope."

Thank you for sharing this, Heidi. That bit where he's talking about his mother is just heartbreaking. And you can really see, this is a man who understands what it's like to struggle. This is someone who cares deeply about righting the world's wrongs. And that's what the world so desperately needs right now.

I am so scared for next Tuesday!
