A question, a thought and a belated Heroes review.

Q: If 150,000 thousand dollars was going to be spent on outfitting a family of seven, what would you want most? What else would be a necessity? [livejournal.com profile] cedarlibrarian, feel free to name specific colors in the MAC line.

T: Home for Christmas (aka Christmas Cottage) is not listed on the
list for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide this year (and [livejournal.com profile] dontyouwaitup also pointed out that RPS: Thomas Kinkade is also not listed. You can add it, if you want, since clearly both SPN and J2/J3 are way way way too large to count for Yuletide this year (or, likely, ever).

H:

Saw it last night, finally and OMG the Petrelli family dynamics are just impossible to properly render using words because I end up in the dolphin noise territory. The parallels between the various Petrellis in beds, of course, is just a starting point for Heroes subtextuality and the way the episode ended with Peter being violated by Arthur (in front of outsiders, which is a display of dominence by Arthur in a way that you *know* he worked in different contexts before his "death") is fantasticly creepy.

And I love how the image in Angela's head is the same as what Molly was seeing over and over when she looked into Papa Parkman's eyes. What is it with these mind-fucks by the daddies?

No, I didn't manage to get to the Obama rally yesterday - I did get a glance from the spouse's office so I saw it from afar, but we didn't get to be at the park. It's ok - I've seen him twice this year, and hopefully will see him in DC in January.

Oh, wow. {salivates over that kind of money for 'accessorizing'} Not much into clothing but love makeup. Stock up on some new makeup brushes, MAC and Urban Decay eye liners and shadows (love UD's Thames eyeliner but they 'discontinued' it), MAC foundation, Yves Saint Laurent mascara. Though, I'd probably just end up spending that kind of money on electronics, if I had to spend it all on frivolous stuff.

Are you thinking of going to the inauguration (IFIFIF Obama wins *desperately wards off jinxes*)??

I'm trying to decide whether it'll be worth it, whether we'd be able to get within 5 miles of him in January.

I actually have already booked flights for me, my husband. Eldest Kid, my parents, and my sister & BiL - we managed to get to National for 129 round trip including taxes. And I think I know where we are going to stay - Pentagon City, right on the Metro. And I think we may be throwing a 38th birthday party for me on Sunday the 18th - an early brunch before (GOD WILLING) all the fun stuff starts on the Mall.

Shall we go off-LJ and discuss?

AND DO YOU LIKE MY NEW ICON?

For that kind of money, I think you'd have to have proper leather jackets from http://www.uswings.com (made in America natch!) and hell, never mind the DM Vintage line, you could probably afford to buy the real 11-eyelet riot reds right off Suggs's feet.

Well, 150,000 thousand is a lot. ;)

It sickens me to think that $150,000 would pay off not just my mortgage but my sister's, too. (It wouldn't reach so far as to pay off my brother's and complete the trifecta, but still.) I'd probably pay off the mortgage and pay off the Florida Prepaid program for both kids and go clothes shopping for all four of us with the leftovers.

I like clothes and stuff as much as the next person, but cripes.

I work right across the street from the inauguration stage, which is already being built. That doesn't necessarily mean I'll get to see any of the festivities. I may be home, snug in my bed and watching it on TV, enjoying the federal holiday. Or, if Obama, dreading going to work the next day, knowing that THEIR pictures will be on the wall (doom!! doom!!). (Or trying to figure out how much we can get for our house so we can move to Canada)

But if it's to be a celebration, maybe we can get together while you're in town!

oops, a line got deleted. I meant to say, if Obama doesn't win, I'll be sitting in the dark with the shades drawn, rocking back and forth, dreading going to work next day.....

When Sarah Palin packs up and heads back to Alaska on Nov. 5, at least she'll be able to say "What the hell, I scored some nice clothes!".

I'd take that as a decent consolation prize.

And apparently some high end cosmetics too.

That make-up artist was the highest paid employee in October, and as one commenter put it, she doesn't even blend properly!

Look at the lip-liner! I could have done better than that, and I buy my make-up at Sears!
