The Doctor tells her mom and Wilf that they can't ever tell her anything. He erased all of her memories of him. And then he leaves, and she wakes up and he tells her goodbye but she doesn't know who she is so she barely acknowledges him, and it's just... TRAGIC.
He goes off and is in his TARDIS and seems very, very alone.
Not to harsh your squee, but - personally, I liked all of the finales from new Who better than this one. >_> And that's not because of the outcome, but because of the composition of the show itself - I thought 1.13, 2.13 and 3.13 worked much better than 4.13 did.
