(In case you hadn't seen it yet, the Supreme Court of California said that it was illegal to discriminate in disseminating marriage licenses based on the gender of the applicants. In other words, gay marriage is legal.)

If one does not actually leave Miami Beach proper, one has the exact same rights married to someone of the same gender as married to someone of the opposite gender. Including property tax things.
And this is only one reason why we want to split the state in two.
