Broward County doesn't look like that. Yes, it can be grey and there are diners and stuff in the old fashioned way but really?

It doesn't look like that. Broward is Ft Lauderdale and Hollywood and the planned communities of Sunrise and Westin. And there are various random blocks of US1 that are damned old fashioned. But this? This is just *amusing*.

Back to the dvr!

Hee! But it's a helluva lot like parts of Seminole, Lake and Marion (my territory). \o/

It is! And even certain St Lucie areas. At EyeCon I plan to ask Jared if he knows why "Broward" of all places.

Yeah, that's how I felt when they showed "Fitchburg, WI" in S1. I live in Madison, of which Fitchburg is a suburb, and it looks *nothing* like what's in the episode.

It's the US. Why shouldn't everything look like Vancouver? La!

And what's this bullshit about vampire nests in Austin?

There might be some, just not at the Apple Store.

Last year, I had a date with a petite, prettyish blonde girl. I recall this tidbit:

Wes: You know, you could go to Hollywood and they would put you to work slaying vampires immediately.

Girl: I'm not finished here yet.

Um, that's because it's Steveston! You can get GREAT fish and chips there! Notice George's Taverna in the background (white on dark blue awning): this is the same corner that ghost Jessica in White Nightie stood on in Season One.

Yes, I am that much of a geek.

Wow, that's random!

And there are places to get good fish & chips in Broward. I think that what struck me as weirdest is, nobody uses the county name for the place, except when discussing the recently jailed Sheriff. That's why I wonder why they chose "Broward" instead of all the other options that would've put the Mystery Spot within two miles - or thirty miles - of the location they chose.

What I do want to write is the Trickster's Reasons for Choosing The Beaches of South Florida (Real Girls In Bikinis, Plus This Place Which Dean Would Also Love) - perhaps after driving through Broward tomorrow and again Monday I will feel inspired. Had they pretended it was South Beach instead, though, they could have done the breakfast scenes as a mockup of this place. La!

Dude, I was totally looking for photos for you, but you'll just have to read Bear Hunt, Season One for the photos. Trust me.

I think a Trickster would have a helluva lot of reasons for choosing South Florida as a playground. I don't think Steveston has a place exactly like "Big Pink". In fact, I'm pretty sure. But now? I am going to have to go to South Beach. There's a place near me called Lac Pink, and the buses that go there always say "Pink" on the front of them, and I'm tempted, surely I am. Too bloody funny.

Email me your address (if you're comfortable with that) and I'll send you a postcard. We go there all the time - they make cookies the size of ten-gallon hats!

LOL OMFG they're in Steveston. Historic Steveston, a quaint little fishing village. I HAVE FISH AND CHIPS THERE.

See, Heidi? What did I tell you about the fish and chips? *points above* You gotta come north for the fish and chips.

And maybe the cannery museum (why have they never filmed there? It would be brilliant!)

For real! That place would make for awesome creepy. Didn't X-Files film there? I remember seeing them film in Steveston, heeheheh.

You know, I wonder. I know SPN uses Britannia Heritage Shipyards a fair bit, and that they HAVE used the BC Mining Museum (near Squamish), which is an AWESOME site and one that X-Files used. I am less familiar with XF, so I couldn't speak as to whether or not they've used Gulf of Georgia Cannery. Of course, it's a parks Canada site, so they might be stricter with film crews. Hmmm. But it would be a great place to film (and hell, they do weddings there...)

Well I think that they were a little hindered with the setting since their version of Broward is actually somewhere near Vancouver :D. Other than the stock shots the epi that they did in Philly didn't really look familiar either.
