"Mom, what's a worn out recording?"

(We were listening to Escape (The Pina Colada Song). Now that's a metaphor that won't survive long into this century.)

Also, I saw the Doctor Who bit from Children in Need! Adorable and terrific and made of a fantastic combination of squee, win, woobietasticness and doctor/master-ness! Oh, Stephen Moffat, you thrill my brain!

Any news, btw, on the stagehand strike in NYC? We have a runoff for mayor and commission and we did early voting today. It's around the corner from the annual, major Auto Show, so one thing very few people seemed to know - I googled and didn't see any mention of it - is that there is a set-aside of four parking spaces in front of city hall for voters, so you don't have to deal with lots and meters and walking through the tourists. I've been telling people about it all afternoon, because people are staying away from the area and the polls because of the traffic. Sigh.

I think it's only kids who are now under ten who won't remember at least video-tapes, if not cassette tapes, so...

The latest I heard about the strike is that the producers' league and stagehands' union were supposed to actually sit down and talk on Saturday, so... yay? I just checked the NYT and there's no new info, but here's hoping!

*goes to find the CIN clip*

Sigh, ok. I was hoping everything would be settled by Thanksgiving for the tourists...

Hey Nineteen, that's Aretha Franklin. She don't remember Queen of Soul. Hard times befallen the soul survivors. She thinks I'm crazy but I'm just growing old...

Another way to feel old.......be the oldest person at a birthday celebration.

Squeed over the CIN special with a friend yesterday and we both kept trying to reach into the computer to hug The Doctor. *wibble* Much awww and squeeeing from us while a nonWho friend looked on confused. LOL If I didn't already love Steven Moffet this would seal the deal.......
