: does the HEROES flail
May. 14th, 2007 09:30 pmSo Mr Petrelli and Angela both have powers? And Linderman just broke Nathan's heart. Awwww.
Sylar - you're going to leave your boyfriend for Peter *and* Ted?
Claire! Wants to be Buffy!
Sylar doesn't know Peter can read minds? Huh.
Oh, I *knew* Linderman was going to heal Heidi.
Wait. "Who's sylar?" Didn't they think Ted was sylar about three weeks ago?
Wah, Hiro and Nathan are no longer BFF! Alas! And oooooh! Daddy's back! And still scary!
Still hating an Candice. And those comics are so not real.
Ha! Sylar is so SMRT!
HEY!
I love these hints from the Dept of Backstory! All the parents....
Yay! Nathan teams up with his one-night-stand and her husband!
(I
Ooh, is that the building from 5 Years On?
Hee! She remembers Matt! How sweet.
Is this where Matt turns evil?
Oh! No, this is where Bennett is *zomgamazing*
He didn't know! He didn't know it was a little girl! Don't shoot! Any of you! Wibble!
Oh poor ted! His name is ted. And one day, he'll be dead, yo yo yo. [/ I wanna Be A Cowboy]
Awww, I love Nathan's speech. It's vaguely uber-Manchurian Candidate, and Angela is really creeping me out right now and I'm wondering what is going to happen to the plans of the Older Generation (well, mainly Angela now) now that both Thomson and Linderman are dead. And honestly? Bennett, with Thomson dead, I don't think you need to consider killing Cute Little Molly, because you can control her now, at least to some degree. And if Bennett knew Linderman was dead? I think he'd be willing to leave Molly completely safe - or is it possible for the Haitian to erase her power, as it's completely mind-based? Then she could live and everyone could hide?
But with Linderman dead, will the helicopter go airlift the Petrellis out? Does Angela have an alternative plan to save herself and her son(s) and her grandsons? With Linderman dead, who will get Micah and that bitch of a Candice out? With Candice's illusion in place, can JessNiki even find him? Maybe with Molly but otherwise?
Oh, show!
The way all the pieces really do come together, and there are some predictable elements, like Linderman fixing Heidi's legs, and some things I don't think anyone theorized, like DL pulling Linderman's brain out of his head, thereby immediately making it impossible for Five Years From Now!Sylar to pull Peter away from Mohinder and through the door!
I have thoughts on the preview from next week but I'm going to put them in another post in case people don't want to be spoiled for it, even to that degree.

Date: 2007-05-15 01:53 am (UTC)I MISS TED ALREADY. I really liked him when he wasn't trying to blow things up.
I LOVE THIS SHOW! "Didn't I throw you out a window?" I cackled out loud.

Date: 2007-05-15 02:12 am (UTC)Claire saying defiantly, "The future is NOT set in stone." That has to be about Peter, right? And Peter sacrificing himself in some way? Because Claire has that, "I'm not gonna let Peter die!" look when she says it.
And ZOMG Peter/Sylar faceoff #3! I knew there was a reason they held back the first 2 times--next week is the big one! a;slaf;fja;sldk...*flails*

Date: 2007-05-15 02:41 am (UTC)I have not looked to see if new issue is up yet. So weird that we have hardly seen Hana on the show at all but she is a huge part of the novels.

Date: 2007-05-15 04:56 am (UTC)* Peter is altruistic, he helps everyone...and his power is empathy and an ability to take on other people's powers when he's near them.
* Nathan has ambition, and his power is flying (and flying toys, apparently)
* Niki has a shitty life sometimes, and her power is, well, I don't exactly know, but she gets to escape her life. Let her "sister"/alter ego be in charge and kick some butt
* Matt has trouble with communication (especially his wife?), so his power is telepathy.
* Hiro, stuck in a cubicle, wanted time to move faster.
Etc.

Date: 2007-05-15 01:30 pm (UTC)Exactly what I said to my hubby.
"Oh, I *knew* Linderman was going to heal Heidi."
Yeah; didn't see that one coming from miles away... *dripping with sarcasm*
The rest of your post is similar to my reaction. However...
"...like Linderman fixing Heidi's legs, and some things I don't think anyone theorized, like DL pulling Linderman's brain out of his head, thereby immediately making it impossible for Five Years From Now!Sylar to pull Peter away from Mohinder and through the door..."
Depends upon whether DL lives long enough for *BurningDay!Sylar to come downstairs from the roof and finish him off...
Gross, but valid point: how fresh does DL's brain have to be in order for Sylar to absorb powers from it? If DL told Sibyl there to go find Micah and leave him behind, then she cannot protect him if Sylar takes advantage of his weakened condition.
*I have nicknamed the day of the explosion Burning Day, after a comment about Fawkes the phoenix.
Now that Sylar has killed Exploding-Man!Ted, my theory is that the explosion is caused by the Sylar/Peter fight. Peter, as we saw last night, is beginning to exert control over his empath ability. As soon as he focused on Claire, his hands stopped going nuclear. However, Sylar has been practicing, as well. At first, I had assumed that the explosion was accidental. Maybe before Hiro changed the future, it was. Now, it seems most likely that NYC becomes collateral damage while the two try to kill each other.
As for Hiro, by cutting out his own heart, i.e. losing Ando, he should be able to kill Sylar. The problem is that he is not thinking fourth-dimensionally. If he fails to save Ando on Burning Day, then he might become determined to go back in time once more, to Homecoming night where he knows Sylar's exact location: Claire's high school. While Homecoming!Peter is helping Claire, Hiro could be watching for the right moment to kill Sylar. He needs to avoid being seen, and avoid bumping into his past self. Which, is simple, because Homecoming!Hiro is at the Burnt Toast Diner.
How this affects the rest of the current timeline, though, I'm not sure...

Date: 2007-05-16 03:45 am (UTC)Which . . . doesn't make sense. Like, I get that whatever Hiro affects may be changed. But nothing in the series of events that led to DL's death resulted from Hiro's interference, as far as I can tell. So, um, is that a continuity oops, or do you think that DL isn't really dead?
