FA Announces HBP Weekend Challenges

Since FA will be closing its fic submission form from the 12th through the 19th to give the coding team a chance to read and digest the book, we've opened "OMG! It's HBP!" for our two fic challenges:

Write a fic featuring one or more of (depending on how closely you
want to define it, a new place, canon artifact, spell, character or an
element of backstory we didn't know before HBP

and

Write a fic of 500 words or less that takes place the day after the
book ends, from the perspective of any character in the Potterverse,
except Harry.

They can be posted here starting at 12:15 AM UK time on July 16.

I was wondering, given all the speculation about HBP, is there any death that people would find more troubling than Sirius's in OotP, so I decided to take some speculations - no actual spoilers, there's nothing in here that hasn't been part of speculation over the last two years. It's behind a cut because it's kind of long, not because there are spoilers, but it's possible there may be spoilers in the comments, so if you want to take the poll without seeing the comments, click on the "post a comment" link rather than the number of comments link.
