heidi: (Bothering Snape by PotterPals)
Just before the release of PS/SS in November, 2001, someone posted, and I can't recall where, that the kids in the HP films should do those movies, then retire because it's very hard to transition to an adult film career.

And then Rupert should marry Emma and Daniel should marry Bonnie and they should live outside London and start a drama school together.

I was so horrifically squicked by that (as Bonnie was like 10 at the time, and Emma still 11, and Dan at 12 and Rupert at 13 wwerent much better) as well as by some of the followup squees that rpf-ing the actors is something my brain just flees from.

On the flip side, I found it amusing that EW suggested Ashton Kutcher to play Emilio Estevez in the vh1 biopic of the brat pack. So maybe I'll feel otherwise about the HP cast in 6-8 years?

An ode to [livejournal.com profile] sjbranford:

Today is the birthday of Simon
Whose head is more than pastede on.
Our wish for today
Is that he may stay
Awake thru Prisoner of Azkaban.

And a challenge:
Can you write a haiku or limerick using [livejournal.com profile] sjbranford, instead of 'simon'?

She found her original article about Daniel on TRL back in November, 2001! It's tucked away on TLC here.

And over in the dark recesses of Old Posts on FictionAlley, you can read posts from Towel Girl herself - Candice posted a lot on FA about TRL and Letterman, and you can see all her posts by going to that link and clicking on her name (I tweaked her account today to make them more accessable, as they predate our existence off of ezboards).

FictionAlley, purveyors of aids to Fanfic Authors and Artists, are pleased to bring you: The Azkaban Assignment!

It's an Alfonso Cuaron Fangirl/Fanboy Extravaganza for the premiere of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Reviews of the film so far (from fans as well as professional critics) have acclaimed the film for its cinematographic brilliance and its darker, richer tone. To celebrate Cuaron's success, our challenge is to write a fic or create a piece of fanart which incorporates an image (like the Frog Chorus or the piano in the Shrieking Shack) that doesn't contradict Book Three, but likewise doesn't appear in the book.

Post your art (in the usual way) here, or post your cookies or ficlets here sometime within the month of June. Fics may be drabble length (100 words) or up to 3000 words.

And, of course, you can post even if you're not fangirling or fanboying the film, or Cuaron. It's entirely up to you.
