Here I am, back in line. They open the gate in an hour or so, but really, we'd rather they waited until closer to eight. We're all settled in our chairs with blankets, coffeeand bagels, and the sun's starting to rise so it'll be warming up soon.

When they open the gate we have to stand in a chilly hallway, carrying all our crap.

I think I need to write about this for Parenting magazine. Much loffto [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge, who kept me entertained through the night with his Waiting To Put Names Down for Hogwarts fic - he captures the air of exhausted desperation brilliantly and creatively.

Next update when I'm done... I hope.

Then, I get to take Harry to have a cavity filled. Oh, joy.

Note: My sidekick is down - a network problem, and they don't have an ETA on fixing it. I'll be online after 9 for a bit, but I won't be my usual 24/7 self. Better today than tomorrow, though - spending last night sidekickless would've been significantly more impacting.

Observation: Do not let your four and a half year old son listen to It Sucks to be Me from Avenue Q in the car on the way to t-ball because he will love the song, ask you to change it back when you switch away from it, and then sing it in the car *and* while walking through the park to t-ball. And the parents of the other elementary schoolers will not understand that it is merely appreciation of an innovative Broadway show. Le sigh.

Shout-out: Had a great lunch (with amazing desert) at NEXT on SoBe today with [livejournal.com profile] sff_corgi and [livejournal.com profile] sit_good_dog, who I hope has a good flight home right now!
