Note: My sidekick is down - a network problem, and they don't have an ETA on fixing it. I'll be online after 9 for a bit, but I won't be my usual 24/7 self. Better today than tomorrow, though - spending last night sidekickless would've been significantly more impacting.

Observation: Do not let your four and a half year old son listen to It Sucks to be Me from Avenue Q in the car on the way to t-ball because he will love the song, ask you to change it back when you switch away from it, and then sing it in the car *and* while walking through the park to t-ball. And the parents of the other elementary schoolers will not understand that it is merely appreciation of an innovative Broadway show. Le sigh.

Shout-out: Had a great lunch (with amazing desert) at NEXT on SoBe today with [livejournal.com profile] sff_corgi and [livejournal.com profile] sit_good_dog, who I hope has a good flight home right now!

Try and convince him that the words are really "it ROCKS to be me".

And yes,lj ate your last post right as I was replying that I could indeed see it.

I am too tired to have thought of that myself a few hours ago when he was singing the real chorus...

LOL! I have that problem with Connor, too - he learns all sorts of songs that are wholesome in context, honestly, but taken by themselves ::cringes:: . . . the one that comes to mind is something from "1776" which has a line about "sexual combustibility." Oh yes, it's good fun to have him singing THAT at the top of his lungs on the way to school, with all the other parents standing around nearby. ::grin::

Heidi, it was great to meet you. Thanks for taking the time out to do it.

I learned way too early that there are some songs I just couldn't ever play around my daughter when she was little. And now that she's almost nine, there are still some songs I can't play around her, but for different reasons. She remembers everything. :)

My sister sent me a mix of reggae & ska songs. One of them was 'Smoky Room' by Max Romeo. Imagine my four-year-old wandering into her preschool singing 'I plant the seed, I smoke the weed' at the top of her lungs in her best Jamaican accent...

Curse you for introducing me to a restaurant other than Burger King that I can actually like! ^_^ Now I can no longer horrify people with my concept of 'eating out'.
