Checking in to say that everything is fine here in Miami - also, I've talked to queerasjohn, epicyclical and angiej, and aegeus talked to jlh and everyone is fine at the moment.

What's up with those of you who live near the cities, but not actually in them - do you have power or no?

A major power outage simultaneously struck several large cities in the United States and Canada late Thursday afternoon. A New York state official said the outage came when the Niagara-Mohawk power grid failed. Officials don't believe the outage is related to terrorism. - that's from CNN's site
