Courtesy of a bit of inspiration from [livejournal.com profile] eponis,

If Simone is dead, then Peter's vision can't happen as he visualized it.

Huh.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] peter_and_sam is probably ready enough for prime time, although it needs some better art and more fic and art recs, please! If anyone is interested in prettifying the community, I'm happy to donate some paid time to the comm, and paid time or extra icons to whoever does the work.

So...if somebody doesn't watch Heroes, and doesn't know much about it, but is kinda interested in Sam/other psychic dude, approximately how difficult do you think it would be for that person to keep up with the fics?

Hm. I read Sam/Peter before watching any supernatural eps, and I sorta got a vague outline of him from the fic-reading, but nothing like the understanding I have from watching the show, and I think it would probably be similar to read a Sam/Peter fic without knowing anything about Peter other than what you get out of the fic itself.

Try some of the ones posted and recced at [livejournal.com profile] peter_and_sam - they're relatively short - and see. But you could just watch Heroes ;)

I doubt he'll let her stay dead. After all he's begun to figure out how to use individual powers and that includes Hiro's control of time. What to say that he won't just rewind it next week?

If Hiro, who can actually rewind time, couldn't save Charlie, I don't think time travel would be enough to save Simone.

That doesn't mean she won't come back somehow, but I don't think time travel alone is enough to do so.

That is a good point.

I don't really like her anyway, it was just a thought. :D

Thanks.

I liked Eden more than Simone, but I feel bad for Peter and Isaac that she died.

I liked Eden more as well. She was better built as a character I think.

I agree. She was her own character, rather than being defined by her relationship with Isaac/Peter. I mean, Eden was connected to Mohinder and his father and, as we later found out, to HRG.

I'd be disturbed by them killing off so many female heroes, but they have just introduced Hana as well and she intrigues me.

Exactly. Eden didn't exist just to react or further another character and the connections she had made her more interesting because of that.

I am disturbed by how they're treating all of the female characters regardless of Hana who does seem interesting. They killed Eden, Simone, and Jackie, Claire was sexually assaulted and killed, Matt's wife cheated on him, Niki/Jessica was forced to have sex with Peter not to mention all the other horrible things her character has gone through, Claire's mom has been repeatedly mindwiped, Claire's birth mother is a selfish arsonist gold digger, Charlie (Hiro's girlfriend) not only had a brain tumor but was killed by Sylar, Nathan's wife was in a car accident. As far as I can tell Mrs. Petrelli has it the best and she's lost a husband to suicide. It's rediculous!

Exactly. And if you read her back story comic on NBC's Heroes webpage she becomes even more interesting and tragic.

I agree about the treatment of their female heroes and non-heroes. One minor female character I was happy with was Hiro's sister, but even she needed his help to make his father see that she can run his company. I think Claire is the closest to being a role-model, but her parents were perfectly suited to one another, her adoptive dad is, well, at the very least incredibly manipulative, and her adoptive mom has been through all sorts of hell.

The webcomics they've got going are a fantastic supplement to the show. The best parts of Eden's story were in it.

Yeah. Even when they try to write a strong female or a role model and succeed, they character has still gone through a great deal that a male version would never have. It's my one pet peeve with the show.

They really are fun.

It's a pet peeve for me, too. However, it's worse in many other shows.
Lost
, for instance, where Kate is the only girl who gets to do much. (I haven't really watched it this year, though, so I may be wrong.)
