When Angela Petrelli called Nathan a glorified sperm donor, does that mean...
Let me rephrase.
Angela and her husband had 2 kids, 10-122 years apart, and 10ish years later, presumably when she was too old to have another child, her son was "a glorified sperm donor" or may have been set up (?by linderman?) with Meredith and they had a child.

What does Angela know and how much of the existence of Nathan, Peter and Claire is owed to some genetics manipulation, either just by pairing people together or with actual 'mechanics'?

Or after Nathan, did Linderman and others strive to "create" Peter and then Claire?

I feel very Anna to the Infinite Power-ish about this, but in a good way.

I actually said "Holy crap" out loud at the television at the end. I thought Mrs. Bennett or Isaac was going to kick the bucket. At least Simone's death shall cause the "WOE TRAGIC" implications for later.

I think Sylar and Mohinder will end up being the deadliest road trip EVER. I did think the mechanic lady was cool though.

My husband (pdkirke) brought up the same thing about the vision. Her death will give loads more angst, more tension between Peter and Issac, and more weight to the Peter/Claire shippers. (Although if Peter and Nathan are really biological brothers that squicks me.)

Figuring out how they're going to avoid blowing up New York has intrigued me from the pilot. (Or will they do it and have a post-apocalyptic mutant hunt?)

I think all Angela meant about the "sperm donor" thing was that he had little to no involvement raising/creating this girl-- all he did was provide the sperm. However, the idea of him having been set up with Meredith by Linderman or HRG's organization (and maybe they're the same thing... I suppose we'll find out next week!) is pretty fascinating, and one I honestly hadn't considered.

OmgIsaacshotSimone!!! That was an utter jaw drop, I'll admit. And yes, that was some very lovely Eccleston happening there. Though, I probably shouldn't have laughed that much when he was playing billiards with the Petrelli family jewels for a moment there. I must also say that I enjoyed the fact that Peter got his evens by tossing The Eccelston off the building himself. :P

I thought Matt couldn't read Bennett's mind when Tall, Dark and Handsome is around to create interference. Without that, shouldn't Matt be able to read him? *is not sure*

Hm, I sorta presumed that bennett has a power himself, to prevent people from reading his mind. Whether it's natural or acquired, I don't have a clue.

You've said you don't read spoilers, but have you read Hana's back story comics on NBC's Heroes website? I found it fascinating.

Yeah, Linderman would be pissed if Peter can't procreate and even more so if Simone was already carrying his little super-baby. (Unless that baby is able to save Simone, but that would be likely only if the child were conceived after Peter had contact with Claire.)

I'm not quite following with the "keep lying" part? He couldn't read Mr. Bennett before because of the Haitian guy. Without that guy at the house... it should be static-free.

I want to know though, are Matt and Hana going to feel any radiation effects from being around Ted so much? He's not exactly good for your health.

I really love that book. I saw the movie first, circa 1982 on Showtime I think, and read the book as soon as I could thereafter and it's *such* an amazing story. It's been on my mind recently because of the discovery of the Frank family letters re immigrating to the US, actually...

I speculated about there being a Linderman breeding program at length awhile back. I think there's a very real possibility that Nathan, in particular, has been/is being used as a breeding male.

We have Meredith--> Claire; Heidi-->Simon & Monty, who have yet to manifest as far as we know; and Linderman got him to sleep with Jessica (if she turns out to be pregnant, I'll be convinced).

Also, Angela Petrelli called Nathan an "alpha dog" in the pilot. And, Mrs. Bennet has Mr. Muggles, the breeding of whom was made a mini-plot. I suspect we're meant to see a connection there.

There's also a very general spoiler from an interview with Kring, but I'll not share unless you want to know. *g*

Ooooh, I would love to read your speculating! Direct link to post? Please? I'd rather not be spoiled deliberately - I watched this ep mostly spoiler-free and I want to try and continue that, for no logical reason.

But if JessNIki is pregnant (a) who's the mommy, and (b) would Linderman risk her getting injured while on a hit? Great plotline though, and poor Heidi. Meep, I'm having wibbly name issues!

(a) Interesting question. I think we can assume that Niki is Micah's mom, but Jessica is pretending to be his mum now. Jessica makes a much more frightening mother for any child.

(b)Sure. She's a brilliant assassin, but she's also just a resource to him. There are others who could kill and others who can have genetically altered babies. Plus, with Micah, she's already had one. Additionally, if she is pregnant with Nathan's kid and dies, Linderman would have even more power over him -- he could threaten to tell his wife/family about JessNiki or even go public and ruin Nathan's career altogether.

*sighs* I looked through my tagged stuff and can't find the post where I speculated about this at length. But the basic drift of it has to do with two things.

One, we now have two second-generation kids with two parents with powers. And, we know that someone was after Meredith and baby Claire, possibly to find out if she passed on her abilities. We also know that someone knew Nathan had abilities, because Bennet says he probably knows more about Nathan than Nathan does (I think?) and they definitely wanted Niki/Jessica & Nathan to have sex, not just make it look good for the cameras. So, I think it's possible someone's trying to breed mutant kids to see what happens. OTOH, it's probably not Linderman, since he wants Nathan taken out now. Hrm. Maybe Peter or Sylar have abilities he'd rather breed for. \o/

And, two, totally ridiculous, but the sort of thing Kring does. I think I mentioned this before: the whole Mr. Muggles breeding subplot and calling Nathan an Alpha dog. Also, Nathan's *father*. It made me wonder if upon getting Nathan's dad to sire two kids who had the mutations, Linderman decided he knew too much and took him out. Or something.

The spoilery thing isn't really a factual spoiler. It's just something Kring said we'd see more about.

Jessiki is one genetic person, I think, although, the tattoo does only appear on Jessica, so...hrm. Well, it was Jessica who had sex with Nathan. So, probably she's pregnant? Or, maybe she evacuated physically when he was coming so Niki would get the sperm? Maybe there was a condom involved? Hee. WHo knows? And, I think Linderman's got back up plans on his back up plans and may not be the supreme player here anyway. But Jessica's super-strength probably guarantees she's pretty hard to kill.
