Dammit.

I wanted one more year of fandom waiting and speculating and discussing and theorizing.

Not the movie and the book in the same damned week.

In case you didn't hear, book 7 is coming out July 21. 2007.

Anyone planning a reading party?

Oh, and also?

I know of some *amazing* plans now underway for Sectus and for Prophecy! For that, I will squeeee.

Why couldn't they have waited just a few months more...

I don't feel like I've got to grips with HBP yet properly, we were so spoilt in a way by the delay before OotP and now it feels kind of rushed and yet if you'd asked me yesterday I'd have said I wanted the book as soon as possible...

I suppose nobody ever said fangirls make sense ;)

WTF...the same week?

Wouldn't logic dictate that you space them out a bit, rather than risk oversaturating people?

As I'm not sure whether I'm going to see the movie (I will if my sister expresses the wish to go, but otherwise, nope), I'm actually glad that the book is coming so soon. I need to make my complete closure with the HP fandom asap, i.e. finding out how the series end will be it for me. Also, I think it's logical that the book comes in July this year - it marks the 10-th year anniversary since the first HP book was published.

Yes, exactly! I would have preferred she take another year and leave us more time for porn and anticipation. I don't want it to be over yet. :(

I do wonder if she and her affiliates are aware of Sectus and thought about maximising the sales and the hype? :)

I think Bloomsbury probably doesn't much care when WB releases the films and didn't even take that into consideration.

I'm still sort of stunned and don't feel like I'm ready for the end.

Although, I do hope it will resolve certain issues re:shipping. ;p

Don't kid yourself. You think that the Lord of the Rings fans have run out of things to say because Tolkien finished Lord of the Rings? And on pemberley.com, Jane Austen fans are still posting 24/7 about books that came out close to 200 years ago.

No, we'll continue to discuss and dissect until Doomsday.

I was so sure we'd have another year. I guess that was wishful thinking. I don't feel ready for the last book.

But a reading party would be fun. Anyone in AZ up for it? :P

I'm with you. I'm not ready for fan speculation to end BUT I'm hoping speculation for MWPP will be left available!

Makes me even more sad I can't make Prophecy. Book 7 around that convention would be awesome . . . but

There's no way I won't be at Protus. I'ts on my home turf . . which reminds me . . gotta get back to Bekkio.

And no, no reading parties.
I actually hide from the bookstores on release day ^^
I sneak into walmart and grab a copy later.

Yeah, that'll be a lock-in weekend for me once I've got the book. I'll probably go buy my little ticket for it tonight after work. I bet they've got them already. :)

I don't mind that it all comes out at the same time. I'm far more interested in the book than the movie. The movie is just eye candy for a story I already know. :)

Me and my sister always throw an open house party the night of the release, then kick everyone out by ten so we can go and get our books at midnight.

I wish they had waited until Halloween to release it--that would have been beyond awesome, and not so stinking hot here. We could hold the party outside then, but AZ is too hot to even consider it in July, even at night.

*bounces and squees* Actually I'm about ready for it to just end but that's probably just me. I mean when we got the title, all I could think about is release date, give me a release date! It just all feels like a long time in coming.

And maybe same damn week, but it's still starting off two different weekends - intense!

Well I've gotten invited back up to NYC to hang out with some of those I've hung out with for the OotP and HBP - except I don't know if I want to travel this year - up and down in a weekend - it's all tiring when I just want to enjoy reading it for once... then there's the local contingent that I think wants to do something that I've gotten to know better over the years so we'll see...

*bounces around and back to work*

Totally agree, this has the movie and book too close together. Can we say "Shitty marketing", boys and girls?

Definitely planning a reading party, same I have for OotP and HBP. Will have to find a place for Andy to go while I have the house filled with squeeing HP fans. Have alreayd informed my boss of the upcoming event and duly booked off the necessary days. She's not totally thrilled, what with my having time booked of for Prophecy, but she'll deal. :D
